Secondly, emulation? You can emulate the PS2 version easily on anything
Aside from everything being overhauled such as the combat, platforming and physics, and the boss fights being basically *completely* changed, it's the same game still and it will still feel like BfBB.
IMO, they did the boss fights dirty in this game except for one. Robot Sandy was improved heavily, from her model to the actual flow of the fight itself. Best fight in the game, easily.
Robot Patrick sucks. Period, end of story. It's way easier than the original, too easy. It was one of the harder fights in the original and the model was also done dirty. There were some elements to Robot Patrick that even I as a kid found kinda freaky or scary. In this new one, if it were kid me looking at it, I probably would have giggled at it.
Robot Spongebob is easier also, but not outside the realm of it being a recognizable and comparable fight to the original still. Same with the brain segment and dealing with Robot Plankton.
To end my little TED Talk, if you're looking for something to satisfy nostalgia, do not play this. Go download a ROM of this if you want nostalgia. Play this if you are up for a breath of fresh air and a new unique experience in a game you once loved as a kid.
