How do I get Patrick to the catapult next to squidward in the mermalair?
I've tried the method described here but it doesn't work.

Have you looked at a walkthrough of the original game to see how it was done back then

No but I figured it out by now. You have to get the checkpoint at the computer, go to the catapult that takes you to barnacle boy and the generators and then kill yourself. You will respawn at the checkpoint next to the computer and can go to squidward through the teleporter box. The catapult just sends you back to the computer though.
