Mouse issues

When I am playing this game sometimes it doesn't register me clicking my mouse, stopping me from attacking robots. this is kind of getting annoying, any suggestions on how to fix?

The same problem, and also the cursor does not disappear during the game. I'm starting to think that this is specifically like in Mortal Kombat. Sorry for broken english)

I have this same issue, but spam clicking helps enough for me (or jumping away first).

I have the same problem. It seems that this problem dosn't appear with the xbox controller. It's really annoying!

Whew! Thought it was just my mouse dying... Yeah, I'm guessing they didn't thoroughly implement mouse+keyboard controls since it was originally a controller game.
