can't hit the master shut down button in the mermalair

i have hit all 4 buttons in the lair and returned to the computer and got the golden spatula. the computer unlocks the gate covering up the master shutdown button but i am unable to hit it with a bubble ball. wondering if anyone else had this problem or how to fix it.

I didn't have the glitch with the master shutdown button, but I have a similar one in the Mermalair. For the funnel machine mission I thought I was supposed to push all of the buttons with the bubble bowl move. I pushed all three of them and then it saved the game. Then afterwords I found out that this is a mission for Patrick and once you finish it with Spongebob the mission is bugged. Mermaid man says that the TV isn't fixed and I have to push all of the buttons with the throw fruit. I did this with Patrick and he still says that the TV isn't fixed. I finished the final boss and I am stuck at 99 Golden Spatulas. Does anyone know how to fix this game breaking glitch?
