It's not only just a remake the devs are adding more content to the game same game yes however they have added content that never got put into the original battle for bikini bottom. Also the devs have built this game from the ground up with a new game engine runing on the unreal engine 4 which looks really good so far although the devs should hopefully fix the over saturation as the lighting effects hurt my eyes a little especially jelly fish fields it's very very bright.

Well first off, that is the entire point of this game. If they changed it a lot, that would be a bad thing because the original is objectively a masterpiece. Second off, it's not the exact same. They added a couple of things that they never got around to adding in the original game and also created multiplayer.
