Why do I have so many high level weapons?

I've only beat two levels but I have a level 5-8 elemental weapon for all weapon types. Is this a DLC or something?

If I unlocked them myself I'll use them, but it feels cheap using a 77 attack weapon when I just beat the level with a 4 attack weapon.

I like having the option to stick one of those as the second weapon in case I need to kill someone quickly (either to save commander or save myself) or if a fight proves to be too tough for me with the main weapon.

I usually hate things like that (and also that everyone is unlocked from the beginning), but this time I managed to gather enough self-control and decided not to use them until I got equivalent armament legitimately. And look, I just bought a couple of 70-attack Lightning Swords in Conquest Mode. Almost there!

I think it helps that, instead of the straight superpowerful weapons you'd find in later games, this is the silly weapon set. I'm not really tempted to go into battle wielding a mochibana. I don't even know what a mochibana is. Some sort of cultural festive whatsit, maybe? Who knows.

I like that the powerful weapons are silly weapons, because it makes them less generic, but also doesn't take away from powerful weapons you can get in-game via shops.
