I'm not a fan of console gaming.
And if you didn't know Doraemon until recently, that's your problem.
Use German subtitles (if I'm not mistaken, the names are unchanged).
If there isn't a Japanese Dub or the subtitles isn't the want you want. Then it's your problem.
If we want to have English text with Japanese character names so bad, why not wait until someone finds a way to decrypt the language files so we can replace all instances of the English names?
That is why I'm waiting and not buy this game yet. If there is not mod, I won't spend money on what will disturb me while playing it.
Yet, you are using their methods to say that ♥♥♥ Dub is always better. You want to spread your agendas for your Utopia like them. You sounds a lot like the leftist of America. Much more than you think. Sometimes, I even think you are one of them.
I'm passing on purchasing this due to the lack of any option to play using the original names, language, etc.
I have no interest in some Americanized Disney nonsense.
Um...that's all in Asia.
Most of us are NOT from Asia.
(Also, I doubt 99% of people anywhere, will have heard of something.
(I mean, you'd think in the USA that over 99% of people have seen Star Wars, and yet, there are countless people that have never seen it)
I've actually never watched Hey Arnold.
All I know about it is that it's the show with a kid with a head shaped like a football. (...that is, American gridiron football)
(I was rather sore at Disney back in those days for replacing the entire ABC lineup. So I kinda blamed Doug and Hey Arnold for being what cancelled Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic SatAM))
-----
Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z? Ah, childhood classics. Still bring a smile to my face thinking about them.
(If you ever get a chance, 2d0x, give DBZ a watch. ...Though you'd have to watch several episodes at a time, as they do tend to pad the airtime out. (Back then, they were trying to not outrun the manga being written at the same time).
It's a good experience, if not a bit cheesy at times.)
Mario...yeah, who doesn't know Mr. Nintendo himself?
And yeah, I've never actually watched the show with Lum in it.
(Which I found today is apparently called "Urusei Yatsura". (Eh, I was close))
For example, dorayaki (the Japanese pancake-like treat that Doraemon and Nobita love to eat) was called fudgy pudgy pies or something in the English manga, but were also called yummy buns in the US dub. But in the English version of this game, they're called *drum rolls* dorayaki. So it seems like people can't make up their mind on what things should be called, or things are handled by different people. I should try some dorayaki someday to see what they taste like.
If we were going to talk about qualities, only a handful of episodes are available in both English dubs, while a lot of the footage from some episodes in the US dub have been cut. The UK dub was much more faithful to the original with only minor edits. Some people have been making soft subs of the original version. As of 2017 they started producing episodes with upgraded graphics, improving the appearance of visuals making them look closer to the most recent Doraemon movies. That's not to say the old episodes look bad, I'd say they look under-saturated compared to Sonic X.
I would like to let you know whenever there's a mod that reinstates the character names, but it's unlikely that we'll be able to edit the language files anytime soon. Some of the European language settings should have similar names to the original.
If it's the gameplay I would rather play Stardew Valley instead. I pay attention since its JP release in NS. And won't purchase a whole console just to play one game in which it also has legion lock. It's Doramon and characters. It brings childhood memories to many who grow up with them. Maybe if American LC any of your childhood series/movie/cartoon and then butcher it to pieces of what you will say big no the, you would understand this.
For dorayaki, if you are not sweet tooth, I suggest you pass that. It's very sweet that you eat it with matcha. The inside is red bean paste like stuffed red bean bun. Outside taste not like normal pancake either.
I never got news about manga version LC when Disney version drama news hit Thailand that time. I understand the change as target of series is for children and they are not familiar to Japanese culture. But as I said before, if it stays in US, I don't think anyone mind. If they are going to sell it worldwide, they should use what people who know Doraemon use most.
I realize that some can't offer the language options for legal reasons, but that doesn't really change my personal interest.
