the inventory orientation, how to deal with it ?
(I have bought the game on meta store)

In other VR action games I have tried (pavlov, sport mode, battle talent, etc), the body and inventory / holster positions are always tied to the headset's direction, so I can locate my hands based on the headset to pick the items i want to use.

But contractors inventory is quite different. the body isn't always centered to the headset and therefore wobbles around, so the positions to grab magazines and other gadgets also constantly change.

I'm practicing everyday and doing my best to get used on it but still can't. when I'm standing still and shooting at the target I can quickly grab 2 different magazines or grenades properly without looking down, but in actual games I often fail to quickly and properly grab things, especially the pistol magazines because It had moved a bit from the position I remembered.

There isn't seems to be any options to make the body always line up with headset and other people seem to be perfectly fine with this. How do you deal with this special feature without looking down to make yourself disadvantaged ?


I would love an option to always fix the body and inventory rotation to the headset direction, just like other games.

Agreed. Even though they have an option to adjust the body position/direction, it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Reloading and changing weapons is quite painful in this game, and sometimes it's fatal for gameplay (grabbing the knife instead of mag... I think a lot of players experienced this many times)

I found that decreasing height as much as possible helped slightly as I look up more frequently. still having some trouble sometimes though. The game is getting persistent updates so I'm hoping for that small option to be added.

Been playing Pavlov for a year or two now & just bought Contractors some days ago. I must say: It looks pretty, runs OK and has more mods and alot more active players. BUT: The way it handles inventory makes me sick! I am used to reload and grab blindly from Pavlov, quite fast and accurate (sometimes..). Anyhow, this does NOT work for Contractors, exactly as mentioned above, because inventory positions are not connected to head directly, but to the (flawed) logic that tries to guess body direction from head, hand and walking direction together. So I always have to look down before I grab anything, and can not build proper muscle memory.

And why the hell place all the stuff in front of you? This is VR, I can even grap things on my back. There is so much space around my body, why squeeze everything in there? Is this for compatibility with the inside-out tracking people?

So devs please:
- make it an option for inventory location to be connected to head only
- allow to reposition inventory mounting points (in certain windows)

H3vr offers various belt options, maybe something like that can be done here along with slaving inventory to headset position.

This is something that constantly annoys me too.

I keep suggesting they improve this on their discord too.

Unplayable with a gunstock currently because the vest's inventory is like 20cm from my body. Kind of sad you cannot adjust head position...

Tried to dissable full body IK, but the vest still drift off center whenever I look around.
Only thing I haven't tried yet, is to set directional movement to body oriented rather than head oriented. From a logical perspective, the vest should always stay in center with that setup as that should turn the body's orientation with the head, rather than the head while the body follow.

This is a bug introduced in some update.
