Movement Options...

Can anyone tell me what the movement options are in the game? I get horribly motion sick so normal walking I can't do, I need a dash/teleport.

Its smooth locomotion. I had pretty bad motion sickness from Onward, but after a couple of days of just getting in and slowly moving around till I felt uncomfortable and stopping for a few hours or even the day, I no longer get motion sick in vr. Infact, I dont get motion sick at all anymore.

theres vignette that should help but otherwise just start practising. Try some third party apps that add locomotion options

Yea I've had a vive since it came out, it's never gotten better, I'm just susceptible to it I guess.
Haddedam (or anyone) any suggestions for 3rd party?

no , teleport would definitely not be compatible and suitable in this game !!!

If you've played BAM it totally is, the player just sees something different than the game. BAM is totally playable and had movement styles like that. It's not an instant teleport, it's just not the normal smooth movement. I had to refund this game because it's unplayable without it for me.

Payday 2 has done teleport that works "ok" as well

what i mean is that it's difficult to maintain the balance of the fights when some people are teleporting. While this can be ok while in a coop game it's impossible to use in competitive MP !

But to every other player, you're not teleporting. On everyone else's screen, you're running at normal speed. There's nothing to balance. On your screen there's just a second or so between skips in movement. BAM is very competitive.

Long time Onward player.. This game makes me feel a bit uneasy and slight motion sickness. Hopefully after sometime it will go away.. Onward I don't have any issues.

The motion sickness does pass with each game time, your brain become acustomed to it. Then when you jump to a new game the same situation. Play for 15 min or 4-5 matches and havea break. See you on the battlefield.

I've had the vive since it came out, I"ve never become accustomed to it. Doens't work for all people.

How does an FPS work when it mixes the player base between full locomotion and teleport. Does that mean I would move like a target you could track whereas You would blink from one position to another on my screen? It seems that the Teleporter would be cheating because it would be like a normal person competing against nightcrawler. How did they balance this?

No you're mis-understanding how it works.
On MY screen, I'm moving about 2-5ft instantly like a teleport every (I wanna say 1 second) how-ever-long in-between, but on YOUR screen you see just a personal moving normally. Basically what's happening is my camera isn't updating every frame, and the rage you can do that at one time is limited. To YOU I'm running at normal speed in a way where I can be shot, it's actually a little harder for the person doing it not everyone else, I don't know how they handle the physics internally, but it makes the game playable for longer than 2-3 mins. I've played 30 mins matches with no sickness or fatguie. Other players don't look to me like they're doing anything but running, nor do I look like it to anyone. We're all running and normal speed to everyone else, we just don't see it that way because of the camera.

My suggestion would be to try or watch someone play BAM to see my point. It's not the only game that does it, there are many games that do. All done differently, all balanced, all fun. Simply can't play a game that doens't do it.

I see, well that's much better than what I had pictured. What games have these options? Are there other games besides BAM?
