and 4 years development of a demo game on unity engine ?
and yet now they have enough money to actually get it going
but still no updates
yes this game kinda feels like a scam
I don't have a plugged PS3 to play EA's Skate 3... and I'm not sure there's a fully functioning PS3 emulator.
Skate 3 is far superior than Skater XL, it is fun and has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of content[...] while you can't really compare the two, Skater XL's way of moving the character is actually deeper and feels like how a skateboarding sim game should be.
When I first started playing Skate 3, I wondered why they didn't choose to go with the two joysticks serving for each leg. If Skate 3 went this way (and not using one single joystick to do the fliptricks) the only point of playing Skater XL would be that it'd be the unique skateboarding simulation on PC.
I've been skateboarding for twenty years (and counting, hopefully) and Skater XL controls are closer to what I do in real life on my skateboard than what Skate 3 offered (which was 20000% closer than what the THPS series did - which was really fun but only from a gamer perspective.
I just hope they will polish their game and provide content (maps, grabs, late flips, cosmectic stuff) ; if they actually deliver the full pack, Skater XL could actually be the greatest skateboarding sim game ever made :)
you can play skate 1,2,3 on ps3 emulator with decent pc. its called rpcs3
lol boy needs score.
There is a fully functional Skate 3 ps3 emulator on RPCS3, They recommend you extract the files from disc from console for it to be functional vs a online downloaded copy, I have not tried it but i have heard great things about it on youtube from Nightspeed.
so as soon as someone finds a way to mod, it has mod support? :D strange logic here
it's been a bit over a month now since release and this game with great potential already feels abandoned by the devs, while being loved by fans. Whether or not the basic mechanics available yet are nice, the amount of content is really not worth paying 20$ (and i don't think anyone can change my mind here), when you consider with what speed modders started adding content already. If the developer would put in serious work here, there is no way that it takes them much more time to add at least A BIT of content in any way (or at least something close to the often requested roadmap).
BECAUSE:
This state of the game AND way of communicating with supporters, do not justify 20$
Cheap physics?
Yeah it does look like a scam at the moment. If they keep not releasing updates people will get tense.
feels like it's going to be by the summer or even a year from now before we have an update of any sort what so ever especially a new official map. i'm on the verge of making a negative review of one of my most favorite skateboarding games.
