Tips and Tricks
Not, perhaps, spoilers per se but a winning single play strategy that may make things easier for groups as well.

At the northwest portion of the map there's an under construction area (the picnic table) most importantly there's a pile of rocks that you can climb with the aid of leaves or clay ramps and foundations. It has an abundant supply of leaves, clovers, sprigs and so on. There are spiders in the area but they're reasonably easy to avoid.

This area is actually reasonably safe and I haven't been raided once by bugs. Use this to build up, from there make sure you have mushroom gardens, and a smoothie maker at a bare minimum. 3 Mushrooms will make a generic health restoring smoothie and with 20 or so of these in your inventory mapped to a quick bar you can actually manage to survive a fight with a wolf spider even on your own.

For Killing Spiders: Funnily enough the actual trick is getting in close and anticipating where they'll strike. You're actually safer close in with your block up than far away waiting for a chance to strike.

Bring a minimum of 20 smoothies, I favor the ant club for killing orb weavers but this method also works with wolf spiders.

Save first. As with all of my advice this is for single player.

just build a bow and kill them from afar
Build the T2 Hammer- > get the Mint -> build the T3 mint hammer ;)

High stun stat on a weapon can mess with spiders since they do not back up often maybe.

Their attack animation is very long and delayed but they lunge very far, so the best defense is to harass them with highly stunning heavy hits and hope you can stun lock them.

Stand on top of Lady Bugs and aggro spiders and ants, they will attack the Ladybugs who are the most OP insect in the game.

Worker ants & lady bugs will only attack if you attack them.

Stay close to spiders, stick and try to stay to there side and block at the right time. Don't just hold block or you'll still take damage. Or just use Ladybugs as i said before.

Dont attack Ladybugs lol, at the very least there defense is too strong, your best bet is to get something else to overwhelm them.

Spiders and ants can't climb so stay above them if you want to avoid
Ants can still raid your supplies from one level lower however.
If you kill one ant, expect to be raided by alot more
Bombadier Beetles can climb.

Build your base up high and use trampolines to access it. Then you don't have to worry about getting attacked in your base ;)

It seems you can build a base on top of the Baseball as well, 4x4 clay foundation, 6x6 second floor... Ive no idea how this holds up to raids as I tried in Creative just to see if I could make a larger base on Baseball.

Im also not sure yet how the physics behave as far as structural integrity goes, build on it at your own risk :)

The Baseball STILL makes a great "starter base", Ive never had supplies or fire spits raided by ants there (yet)
