[MINIMUM SPOIL please] Taming Aphids...

Hey guys,
I'm around 33% of the game I'd say (just reached the sandbox area) and I've not yet tamed an aphid. I know it's possible (heard Pete saying it and I read that somewhere).
Could you just tell me two things with as little spoil as possible:
(1) Am I far enough in the game to tame one aphid and is it coherent with how far in the game I am? Could I have done it earlier?
(2) Could you give me some vague tips on how to achieve that if it's something that I can already do with how far in the game I am?

1) Yes, you can tame them pretty early. Definitely by the point that you've described.
2) They like a certain grinded-up treat.

The weevil is tamed with mushroom porridge, and the aphid with vegetable porridge.
Since the aphid always runs away, it is better to use aphid boots
