This is the official bug reporting system for Grounded- they will most likely ask you for your save file, and will share steps on how to provide any required information.
What CPU do you have? RAM? GPU? What kind of settings are you running the game at?
Your post is basically saying "I has problems, fix now, much thanks."
Here are some specs that may be important:
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Type: Full Device (POST)
Device Problem Code: No Problem
Driver Problem Code: Unknown
Display Memory: 12196 MB
Dedicated Memory: 4030 MB
Shared Memory: 8166 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)
HDR Support: Not Supported
Display Topology: Internal
Grounded always uses around 4,100 megabytes of Memory after a little while of being in a world. My frames drop from a perfect 60, to an inconsistent mess of 19. If I change my graphics settings on both my pc and Grounded, the lag doesnt change.
Always.
We are still having to guess on your CPU type, and system RAM though...
If the CPU is roughly the same age as your GPU, it should be fine at minimal settings.
From your 12 GB of system RAM shared with your GPU, 16 GB would barely be enough RAM to run the game (12 GB shared with your CPU, plus 4.1-ish GB left over for Grounded).
Any additional background apps eat into this available RAM, and will impact performance.
If you have < 16 GB of RAM, you should decrease your 12 GB of shared RAM down to 8 GB.
Your 970 GPU has 4GB of VRAM, and the minimal Grounded specs only call for 1GB VRAM.
You really don't need to share system RAM with your GPU (for Grounded anyway).
Also, make sure nothing else is running besides Grounded (and Windows/drivers).
I would monitor your thermals to ensure the GPU isn't overheating too.
it's unlikely, but that would lower frame rates if the GPU is throttling due to temperature.
The nVidia GeForce Performance overlay should provide all the GPU data you need.

Installed Ram: 16.0 GB
about a month ago, I could run this game on amazing graphics and I barely suffered any buffering. Suddenly I have to take 5 minute breaks every 5 minutes I play. I have to make the game display like 3 pixels just so I can get consistent frames now. Aside from that, could you show me how to decrease my shared RAM?
This is a huge "red flag" which indicates "something" has changed in the system/settings.
What has changed in the last month?
* Windows Update?
* Other software install/update?
* GPU Driver Update(s)?
* Changed settings in your GPU Driver?
* Changed settings in your game (Grounded)?
* Dust Bunnies have overrun your system/GPU fans, causing them to now overheat?
The most obvious (and by far easiest) thing to do would be to identify the specific thing(s) that have changed since you last had "amazing graphics" - and then undo those thing(s)...
You can do this by editing your registry...
Standard End-of-the-World Warning...
* Fat Fingering your registry edits is a sure fire way to trash your computer
* If you are at all squeamish about doing this, I recommend that you don't even try it
I'm not gonna retype the fix, so go here:
https://linustechtips.com/topic/1157196-how-to-disable-shared-system-memory-in-gpu/
Scroll to the bottom (to soulzendai's reply), and follow the instructions carefully.
For your system, you should set the Shared Memory NO HIGHER than 4096 MB (ie 4 GB).
----------------------------------------
If you have nVidia's GeForce Experience installed, it shows (or sets for you) optimal game settings for your system specifications. It's very handy when a game isn't behaving itself.
----------------------------------------
Depending on video driver version, check the "CUDA - Sysmem Fallback Policy" setting.
See this article for details:
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-introduces-system-memory-fallback-feature-for-stable-diffusion
If it's not already set, try "Prefer No Sysmem Fallback".
----------------------------------------
So, in summary, try these (one at a time, trying the game each time) in this order:
* Undoing whatever changed since the game last had "amazing graphics"
* Use the GeForce Experience recommended optimal settings for Grounded
You can gently tweak these settings after you restore your expected game performance.
* Check/Change your "CUDA - Sysmem Fallback Policy" to "Prefer No Sysmem Fallback"
And, as a last resort:
* Change your Shared Memory down to 4096 MB
Good luck.
