That gives me Chibi-robo vibes.
Enemies are very 2D, not much AI to them and too many in such a cramped area.
Weapons are very numerous and honestly, most are pointless.
Using type/style/whatever advantages vs certain bugs (later almost all bugs) is equally pointless, since why would you carry 10 different weapons when you can carry 1 uber all-rounder.
Armour, again, too many. Condense, combine, conquer.
The building is pretty good, though. I really do not like the concept of being raided, though. (Thanks for the option to disable that, though).
Honestly, a sequel wouldn't be sold very well, based on this game, unless it made huge changes. DLC seems kinda pointless for a game that feels half-finished.
If you want a game that has a much better feeling in the same vein, try Smalland.
Tl;dr: I think they tried too hard for what they could manage and it shows.
Ummm, but what about the Mushrooms that slowly engulf the yard?
Then the Wasps that burst out of their home and infest the yard?
I understand it's not huge changes- but this is still considered evolutionary.
Completely fair and based my dude
Ah- well we just disagree there my dude- no worries, I understand the story is a bit dry at first.
It's a bit all over the place but I loved looking through Tulley's trash at his job termination notice- and looking at all the pictures of him slowly drying into a raisin.
Fair
I'm pretty sure the Hunger/Thirst Gauge was planned from the start-
Now- this was 7+ years ago- but I vaguely remember the first thing ever added to the game was the character and a spider- they wanted to test combat- and in the next video they had a Thirst/Hunger Gauge.
I understand- tier 1 breaks so easily- and some boss fights eat half of the durability of a maxed out weapon
I didn't have an issue with it though- it's easily way better than the durability system in Breath of the Wild
Yeah- adding more creativity would always be welcome.
There is a way to build how you want in sandbox mode- but that's just not the same and I fully understand that feeling
Yep- most annoying thing in the game- least annoying one is Willow, since she has normal reactions to the horrifying monsters around her.
So different types of wild grass like crab grass- or Peat Moss which thrives in porous / moist soil is what you're looking for
Valid and based
I appreciate the detailed response my dude- I see your points, and I too have some of the same gripes.
I hope they can make the game a bit more detailed and more dynamic for players like you.
Because players like me would love additions focused on these aspects of the game as well!
also smth like a stealth mode with bugs being stronger,
I'd love some form of survival / regrowth tasks when IN the house against the family or smth like regrow w/o being killed* (guess regular sized chars won't work in the grassy patches)
oh and I like the magic idea tbh like if we could unlock a magic skill tree with fireballs, charming bugs, shrinking and rezzing them...the options are endless
I guess we'll have to rely on the hobby folk doing that when mods are viable
*there is a similar game to this idea where you are in a pizza restaurant and are either a fly trying to ruin someone's pizza or the pizza guy who trys to get rid of the flies, it's pretty stupid but hilarious, forget the name though
The only thing id really want improved in a sequel is larger yard and more varied reactions from creatures.
More dynamic stuff and randomized behaviors. Spiders that wont just always attack you on sight but ambush instead.. Or hide. Just things to shake up gameplay and make the player question whats going on.
That doesn't make any sense. Models and scenes can be dynamically loaded. The only thing that counts is hard drive space.
