What do you think the future looks like?

That gives me Chibi-robo vibes.

There probably wont be any major story DLC that you have to pay for but there are at least 2 brand new areas that aren't accessible what so ever so they def have plans

Grounded 2 for me firstly they can go from unreal engine 4 to 5 so the graphics can be improved secondly it can be a whole new story the dlc idea considering you go big and go home at the end of the game anyway doesn’t make sense to suddenly have a whole new yard with the same shrunk kids, but a new story and stuff that they cut like the shed maybe going into the house grounded 2 would be good I hope they do a sequel it would be an instant buy for me

Grounded was fun but limited by its team size/experience/whatever factor, but they were clearly limited. The game feels like a proof of concept, really. And it falls a bit short.
Enemies are very 2D, not much AI to them and too many in such a cramped area.
Weapons are very numerous and honestly, most are pointless.
Using type/style/whatever advantages vs certain bugs (later almost all bugs) is equally pointless, since why would you carry 10 different weapons when you can carry 1 uber all-rounder.
Armour, again, too many. Condense, combine, conquer.
The building is pretty good, though. I really do not like the concept of being raided, though. (Thanks for the option to disable that, though).
Honestly, a sequel wouldn't be sold very well, based on this game, unless it made huge changes. DLC seems kinda pointless for a game that feels half-finished.
If you want a game that has a much better feeling in the same vein, try Smalland.

Tl;dr: I think they tried too hard for what they could manage and it shows.

- as I said in the other topic on "Grounded 2" I would have liked the map to be more interactive or evolving so that it had a less superficial and "rigid" side.
For the evolutionary side there is only the weedkiller which can be deactivated and which changes the area

Ummm, but what about the Mushrooms that slowly engulf the yard?
Then the Wasps that burst out of their home and infest the yard?
I understand it's not huge changes- but this is still considered evolutionary.

- I also find that the game relies too much on combat to "stimulate" the player. There are really A LOT (too many) mobs. And I don't like the progression system based on bosses to beat, I find it too predictable, classic and boring.
For example, I would have liked there to be puzzles, I find that with the miniature aspect and the world there would have been a way to create environmental puzzles for example
There are also few possibilities for making traps

Completely fair and based my dude

Ah- well we just disagree there my dude- no worries, I understand the story is a bit dry at first.
It's a bit all over the place but I loved looking through Tulley's trash at his job termination notice- and looking at all the pictures of him slowly drying into a raisin.

- moreover speaking of survival, apart from the mobs which represent a threat the other aspects of survival are very minimal. There are some environmental threats (the gas from the herbicide at one point, the O2 when we are in the pond, or the heat at the barbecue and in the sandbox, I would have liked this aspect to be even more present ), but it is very light. I have the impression that the devs added a hunger/thirst gauge to say that it was a survival game but in fact it's ridiculously easy to manage that and there are no other stats to consider

Fair

I'm pretty sure the Hunger/Thirst Gauge was planned from the start-
Now- this was 7+ years ago- but I vaguely remember the first thing ever added to the game was the character and a spider- they wanted to test combat- and in the next video they had a Thirst/Hunger Gauge.

- I don't know if I'm a big fan of the equipment durability system, in fact why not but I find that they get damaged a little too quickly here

I understand- tier 1 breaks so easily- and some boss fights eat half of the durability of a maxed out weapon
I didn't have an issue with it though- it's easily way better than the durability system in Breath of the Wild

-I quite like the building of this game but I would have liked more choice of materials (in addition, crow feathers, one of the materials, it's very slow to have a lot of them) and decorations. It's also a shame that the game doesn't let us build on all supports, there are sometimes elements of the game on which it is impossible for us to attach a structure, for I don't know what reason

Yeah- adding more creativity would always be welcome.
There is a way to build how you want in sandbox mode- but that's just not the same and I fully understand that feeling

- our character who speaks frankly all the time just... just shut up

Yep- most annoying thing in the game- least annoying one is Willow, since she has normal reactions to the horrifying monsters around her.

- well, maybe I'm quibbling a little but I was also a little disappointed with the high garden, the points of interest are nice (even if often just decoration or supports to reach other places), but I don't know, maybe it's the fact of always walking in the same grass that gave it a bit of a repetitive feel

So different types of wild grass like crab grass- or Peat Moss which thrives in porous / moist soil is what you're looking for
Valid and based

I repeat, I liked the game, but for me things were missing here and there to make it really great. And I specify that I modified some parameters because the base game without modification would have annoyed me.
There are probably other things to say but this is what comes to mind at this moment

I appreciate the detailed response my dude- I see your points, and I too have some of the same gripes.
I hope they can make the game a bit more detailed and more dynamic for players like you.
Because players like me would love additions focused on these aspects of the game as well!

I'd like to have some pvp - like 5 vs 5 / 3 vs3 or smth, different stuff like king-of-the-hill, battle royal etc in the hostile garden environment,
also smth like a stealth mode with bugs being stronger,
I'd love some form of survival / regrowth tasks when IN the house against the family or smth like regrow w/o being killed* (guess regular sized chars won't work in the grassy patches)
oh and I like the magic idea tbh like if we could unlock a magic skill tree with fireballs, charming bugs, shrinking and rezzing them...the options are endless
I guess we'll have to rely on the hobby folk doing that when mods are viable

*there is a similar game to this idea where you are in a pizza restaurant and are either a fly trying to ruin someone's pizza or the pizza guy who trys to get rid of the flies, it's pretty stupid but hilarious, forget the name though

we have one more update coming its the final update according to devs, so we'll see.
Coyote Feb 14, 2024 @ 10:05am
Games pretty great. I like the exploration, vast items to experiment with different builds and the factions raiding your base.
The only thing id really want improved in a sequel is larger yard and more varied reactions from creatures.
More dynamic stuff and randomized behaviors. Spiders that wont just always attack you on sight but ambush instead.. Or hide. Just things to shake up gameplay and make the player question whats going on.

there won't be any big dlc, devs have already said that the console version is too close to the memory limit, that is the reason we can't go into the shed, it was always planned but had to be cut because of console versions

That doesn't make any sense. Models and scenes can be dynamically loaded. The only thing that counts is hard drive space.
