Constant Crashing?
anyone else having an issue with the game constantly crashing?

I'm playing a solo creative lobby and it seems that whenever I start building a base, I get a hard crash to desktop within 10 minutes. I've updated drivers, verified files, lowered settings, nothings helped. It's getting to the point of irritating.

No this is not normal. I have 682 hours playtime and not a single crash in all that time and I have also only very rarely seen people posting about crashes.

Is this the only game that crashes for you?

It was fine for me until a few days ago. I had gone completely crash-free until then. I'd completed the core game and was just doing the final optional bosses before starting NG+, but now it's impossible to go more than 5-10 minutes without a hard crash regardless of where I am or what I'm doing. Logs are filled with:

[0530/003537.146:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(156)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 8 [0530/003539.052:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 359 [0530/003539.052:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization [0530/003539.879:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 359 [0530/003539.879:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization [0530/003540.603:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 359 [0530/003540.603:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization [0530/003541.315:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 359 [0530/003541.315:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization [0530/003541.624:ERROR:browser_gpu_channel_host_factory.cc(103)] Failed to launch GPU process.

Digging around it sounds like it may be a UE-specific issue with Proton (I'm a Linux player) and Grounded (as well as Deep Rock Galactic) are known to be impacted, but it doesn't explain why it has been fine up until now. Nothing has changed for me hardware-wise. Going to do some testing by forcing it to use DX11 and tinker with Proton versions, but I don't have a lot of hope (I'll report back if I find a magic combo).

My hardware specs are well above the recommended, drivers/etc. all up to date, no other games have issues.
