Grounded
Jerky Rack description gives misinformation?
Based on experience and reading what others have said online, jerky apparently does not heal you, rather just fills your hunger bar and makes you thirsty. But if this is the case why does the description for the rack say that jerky created from it never spoils and can boost health? I'm a relatively new player and pretty disappointed cause I spent a good while trying to get the materials to make the rack just to find out what it says isn't even true realizing I could've used the Bombardier parts for way more useful things. Why is this still in the game?

What the hell, sound like you read the jerky rack from the the forest than grounded.

Jerky rack in grounded allow to be more efficicient at making leather, put berries on it. Dryed meat never spoil but are better used as good meal with it. It only fill hunger, doesn't heal nor make your thirsty.

If you want to boost health, make smoothie station, it's basically your "healing potions" crafting table.

i can definitely confirm the posts I've read were from Grounded as they've also said smoothies are what you should be using to heal. But it doesn't change the fact that what the description states for the Jerky Rack in the game is incorrect. It literally says "Dry raw meat on a jerky rack for the ultimate snack that never spoils and can boost your health.". It doesn't boost your health, why is it still in the description?

Even the Wiki for the station says "Hang raw meat on the rack to dry it into jerky. Jerky never goes bad, but while it restores health, it makes you a little thirsty.'". Which again, is not true. And if what you say is true, then the Wiki is even more incorrect than the game cause it doesn't cause thirst yet it says it does. My question still stands, why is the description in the game when what it claims to do isn't true?
That's a good question. Seems the devs totally forgot to change the description.

Actually the wiki is correct because it's just copying the game description and the third sentence on the page literally says "Food dried on the Jerky Rack refills hunger but does not heal the player despite the description in the game saying so."

Oh nice. Good on ya for correcting the wiki.
FYI since nobody else has said it yet (or knows, I guess) that is the description from back in early access. Jerky did function differently and healed a small bit while also costing a tiny bit of thirst.

Yeah that's what I figured the reasoning was since if I remember correctly I did see someone saying that dried food got an overhaul or something and the effects changed. Maybe to push the whole smoothie system. Still unfortunately that people are gonna be misinformed.
