Not trying to be harsh but considering that the devs rarely check Steam and the game is considered “finished” and they’ve moved on I am pretty sure they will not even see this thread, much less do anything with it.
Edit
Only decent way to contact devs if you’re really interested is either the official Grounded forums on Obsidian’s website or directly emailing their support.
It's not unheard of that small additions are added sometimes to try and increase sales to newer or broader demographics.
Hate to say it, and I’m no programmer, but I’m pretty sure adding split screen mode would not qualify as a “small addition.”
Small addition I think maybe tweaks on armor or weapon numbers, a bug fix, that kind of thing.
And overall, Splitscreen is quite demanding on graphics and it gets way worse when it comes to consoles. It's usually something that needs to be done from the start and as of now, the life cycle of the game is already pretty much at the end. If they even consider it, then only for a 2nd game, but i highly doubt that they're going down that route.
Adding splitscreen and multi controller support shouldn't take more than a week. The problem is rather that it might cause performance problems.
