Crash > Out of Video Memory... error, but definitely not true
https://imgur.com/a/giRRxbu

I'm able to play for a short while, and then game crashes. On next startup, this error appears, and I can no longer get the game to load.

I'm on GeForce Studio 555.85, and I've also tried Game Ready Drive by the same name. I even rolled back to 555.24 or something, and the issue still happened.

I have a beast of a computer - 4x32g ram, 4080, etc. I'm able to play any other game just fine.

I'm the host for one other player. I've also tried reinstalling multiple times.

help?

Okay, aside from me being Officially Jealous, you can try this:

* Clear nVidia Shader Cache
(Grounded only uses a minimum of 1GB vRAM, but maybe your cache is "cluttered" up)
1) In nVidia Control Panel, Disable your 3D Shader Cache
3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Shader Cache Size -> Disabled
2) Reboot

3) Run Disk Cleanup
Search "Disk Cleanup", and Run it
a) Select (at least) DirectX Shader Cache, then Click "OK"
If you haven't done this in a while, feel free to check the other boxes too for moar speed.
This is a common Windows Maintenance Task, and should be performed regularly.
b) Wait for the magic to happen
c) Close Disk Cleanup

4) In nVidia Control Panel, (Re-)Enable your 3D Shader Cache
3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Shader Cache Size -> Driver Default
You probably "could" go higher on your system, but YMMV. I'll leave the testing up to you.
5) Reboot

6) In nVidia Control Panel, Verify your 3D Shader Cache Settings (just in case)

7) Try Grounded again and see if that helped...

If that doesn't work, you need more Pixel Lubricant added to your Video Card.
Please send it to me ASAP, and I'll take care of that. :welpface:

Well... I cleared out 556mb with that cleanup (built the PC in February)... Unfortunately it didn't work :( Same error. I do appreciate the help and the humor, but no dice.

Well, I still think you're low on Pixel Lubricant, but now try this:

* In Steam, Set the Grounded launch option: -d3d11
This has been known to help with this (and a few other) Grounded issues as well...

1) In Steam, go to the Grounded Launch Page
2) Click the Gear Icon, then select "Properties..."
3) Add "-d3d11" to the Launch Options text box
This forces the game to launch with DirectX v11 (guessing you use Win11 and DX v12).
4) Close the dialog box

5) Try Grounded again
6) Send me a few dozen Bitcoins; I won't mind at all.
--------
Fun Fact: To display your current DirectX version...
* Windows-R, type "dxdiag" and <Enter>

Got the same issue, no fixes (including those from the official support) works :(

if you have a 13th or 14th gen i7 or i9, then there seems to be an issue causing this misleading error. Perhaps the microcode patch in July will fix it.
