Someone found a way to disable friendly fire without loosing achievements ?
Like via save editing or something? or any mod for it?
it limits some items in late game for no reason "mild" already got friendly fire off with achievements so why not medium and whoa?

If you use Cheat Engine and the table for Grounded that is available over at Nexus Mods, you can disable friendly fire without switching your game to custom. If you then save the game, the option will be permanently set on that save, so you won't even need to re-do it every time you launch the game.

I assume for multiplayer, you would need to do it as the host with no other players logged in, and then after saving exit and reload before people join, to be sure the effect sticks.

I've not tested it, but it should. I'll test it in a few minutes if you want.

if you would do that it would great and thanks :)
achievements stay enabled with the CE setting?

Okay, I just tested it, and unfortunately the setting does NOT stick like it does in a Single Player game. It may still work if the host toggles it every time the game is started, but it won't be persistent apparently.

And yes, achievements still work if you change the settings that way rather than by converting the game to custom. At least for now. I've been publicly sharing this as a way to get achievements while still having some of the custom settings toggled since the game was released, so they may make it not work in a future update.
I used this method to get my game to "pause on menus" while still getting achievements.

is it not true that playing on mild removes friendly fire without forcing a custom game?

It is true, I think he just doesn't want everything else that comes with Mild difficulty.

You now have the new mutation to reduce friendly fire.

You now have the new mutation to reduce friendly fire.
Which isnt the point of this thread.
Reduction =/= Disabling FF

Well it achieves the same purpose of allowing you to use all the weapons even if you aren't skilled enough to use them with others around. It reduces both the damage dealt and taken by 75% so if both players have it you basically take no damage.

So still not the topic understood.

That's your fault, for attempting to resurrect a thread from over a year ago.

CE... and people wonder why there are so many issues with MP gameplay. SMH
