Because the devs doin´t really care about their poor and lackluster building system.

Actually brain dead answer.

The building system in this game is incredibly well made and enjoyable to use. I can't tell you how many games have just the WORST building systems that ruin the experience.

As for "Half fences" just use quarter walls.

The "Half Stem" walls actually make pretty decent fences and seem to go pretty well with almost anything you're building. I use them for all my buildings and bridges.

Defending this poor building system is rather braindead.

A building system where walls don´t even connect to eachother and literally float in position can´t be called good nor can it be called good when it doesn´t even offer inverted inner and outer roof corner pieces and the triangle ones also leave huge gaps to the connecting walls below which also looks really bad.

Or how about only being able to rotate building pieces in 90 degree angles or how you can´t even combine awning pieces with railings. That´s sad. though admittedly not as as sad as seeing someone defending this and even calling it incredibly well made lol. You must have very low standards dude.

The saddest thing though is seeing how a professional and well established developer like Obsidian, who has crafted this otherwise amazing game, can´t even come up with a better and more fleshed out building system.

Anyone who doesn´t have incredibly low standard would expext more from a big ass developer like this.

Look at what amazing things you can build in other games like Valheim or Smalllands where the game allows you to freely rotate building pieces and offer way more snapping points and build pieces on top which perfectly connect and don´t leave immersion breaking gaps like in Grounded.

I love this game. I just wish Obsidian would put more effort into their building system . To me it feels very low effort like. That´s just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

In case you want to have an idea how an actual good building system looks like maybe also have a look at Enshrouded where you can build stuff like this:

To be fair, it utilizes a voxel engine so you would never be able to do that with unreal engine but it shows what can be considered good since you don´t seem to know what is good or bad considering you defend Groundeds low effort buildign system.

Feel free to also have a look into the build of the month steam forum section of Valheim to see what is possible. Maybe it opens you eyes.

Walls do connect to each other and will fall apart if they don't have support.... And the triangle pieces fit together just fine.... What game have you been playing? Do you even have all the building pieces unlocked?

YOU CAN rotate them by 90* easily via the scroll wheel. Unless you're using a half-tile piece which is restricted so you don't have overlap. Why would you combine awning and railing pieces? You shouldn't be standing on awnings, they're not a floor tile.

I think you just suck at building and I've clearly truly hurt your feelings by questioning your intelligence. How sad.

No. You're just cartoonishly entitled.

Again, this is a skill issue on your end. My builds are clean.

So you KNOW the engine has a limitation, and that what you're comparing it to doesn't, yet you feel the need to spit on anyone who dares ignore this comparison because they're cut from different vines.

Valheim is ♥♥♥♥, look at what you can do in minecraft! What's that? Totally different concept? Different engine? Different limitations? Different point, setting, and purpose? No you see by your own logic, it's Valheim's team's complete lack of understanding for anyone else but their selfish selves because someone else did it differently. OBVIOUSLY.
