Xbox Login Loop

Although I occasionally get the Xbox login loop, it's never been that big of an issue as it usually goes away after restarting my laptop.

I'm traveling now and brought the same laptop with me. The game was working perfectly fine before I left but now that I'm attempting to sign in through the hotel's public wifi I can't get past the Xbox account login loop. It allows me to log in and even shows my account name on the top right but clicking multiplayer will always prompt the login window.

I suspect that the wifi being public might be causing issues but I've also tried my phone's mobile hotspot and it's also not working. I'm at a loss since I can't boot up MP mode and access my shared world.

Anyone have similar issues when traveling or playing on a public network?
