Can't Log In to XBox Live

I just bought this game for me and a friend on the Steam Sale. We installed the game, but neither of us were able to log in to XBox Live from the game. We see an "XBox Network Login" button, we go through a login (which is sometimes a black box, sometimes a weirdly huge XBox logo with a tiny log in button in the corner, and sometimes a regular login screen), and after we go through the login process, we see we're still logged out, and the "Xbox Network Login" button is still present. We're both using a Windows PC and play other games with Xbox Live requirements like Sea of Thieves, and those work.

This is very disappointing because apparently we can only play together if we can log in. Is this a known issue? I see many forum posts over the last year with similar problems, but I am surprised that it happened to both of us today and was wondering if maybe this was a global problem?

We recently picked up the game and we can't sign in now, meaning we can't play the game. Insane you need an xbox account when the sign in doesn't even work. No sign in. No game gameplay.

Same thing, I've even tried reinstalling the game but nothing happens when I log in

the problem probably comes from the Xbox network server than from the game itself. Because I can't connect either.

same here, i offered it and i bought it also for myself, just downloaded it and cannot connect to xbox ...

I am having the same problem just an infinite sign in loop. I tried trouble shooting with some recs I found online but nothing has worked to fix it.
