We're assuming you want all of us to quit in sympathetic response to your pitiable plight?
Uhhh... No.
----------------------------------------
* Watch YouTube videos of this fight to see where you are going wrong
* Lower your game's difficulty (for just this fight, or for your entire game as it gets harder)
or
* Simply Git Moar Gudder
And I know its hard, if you do that. But sure you can copy any solution from on 24-h-a day gamer. maybe you can even try to think it was your solution and pat yourself on your back a bit. for me this feels like cheating.
as for the forum talks the assitant is not easy. there are a lot of people solving this not in the manner as it was meant, that is what I think.
A comment by the devs would be nice. Pity is not what I need.
Maybe its meant the way that I need charcoal first. I tried it with upgraded Antsword and ladybug armor and some combinations. The problem is: as soon as the assistant is nearly dead at 5% or something less the whole thing goes havoc and I am instantly dead.
and if you see youtubes and read forums on that and you try it 5 times with no success and surely the fight is no fun - not at all at least for me - you want to know, if it is meant that way. and I am a fan of Obsisian.
Perhaps you should go back on your meds before playing this game?
There's nothing wrong with the Assistant Manager fight.
Approximately 2.25 million people have completed this fight- it's fine.
Anyway:
- Bring a shield to repel energy spheres easily
- It's weak to smashing. Use an insect hammer, possibly upgraded.
- Otherwise, you can acquire the Pinch Whacker, an unique tier 3 weapon that can be obtained early if you know where to search.
- IIRC, staying in the area next to the large blocked entrance should keep you safe from lasers.
- If everything else isn't enough, just bring a crapload of beefy smoothies and spam healings. Ladybug armour is recommended for the healing buff.
If you truly believe that then I have no idea why you are here asking people for advice. It's essentially the same as a YouTuber solving it, just via people typing an answer here rather than a video showing it to you.
However, I will go ahead and answer since you are here. Without knowing more specifics (your weapons, armor, mutations, what difficulty you are on) I can only give more general advice.
Kill the minions soon as they spawn. You don't need the extra problems they bring.
For the lasers you either need to use the pillars in the corners of the room as cover or carefully dodge under/over them in the middle.
For the lightning pillars you are forced to stay in the middle of the room. Picture a + shape with the laser tower in the middle of the +. You'll need to stay somewhere on the lines of that + to avoid the lightning.
Toward the end of the fight the lightning and laser attacks overlap so much that you will likely not be able to get close enough to melee the Assistant Manager. You will want a ranged option then, preferably the Crow Crossbow.
Its just so that I am quite frustrated about that experience thats why I may seem a bit furious.
I know about what you said thats why I always got the assistant down to at least 20%. And I saw one Youtube thats was made quite well, but that lady used antlion weapon and armor. I only have the hat till now.
But I always failed the last 5 to 10% of the assitants health. Even tuning down the difficulty level didnt help. so something goes extremely wrong.
upgraded insect hammer was also what I tried. But not with lady bug armor. Maybe I try some time later.
thx for your help anyway.
P.S.: Maybe there is a real reason why its harder for me, because I designed my char differently compared to others. For me I prefer agility and flexibility as for milk molar investments for example. I made it to this point all with bee armor, that I found in the red ants home. It feels compared with other games as if I am a good archer and now come to a boss where I need nothing else but as much hp as possible. and yes in one try I got the assitant down to 5% only with crow bow and bee armor.
You can defeat some antlions to get their T3-armor though, which should also help in retreiving some charcoal.
yeah, bee armor is quite bad against bosses, since stunning has a very high cooldown on them. That's a light armor with pretty much no effect.
Better take the ladybug armor, since it reduces dmg way better and the set bonus might be usuable by blocking the electric balls. Or you might want to combine 2 ladybug pieces with the markmans cap, if you want to keep using the bow.
Or you could also get the antlion armor, which has some decent defense stats and also benefits a bow strategy, on top of being usable later at the bbq grill or when coming back to the sandbox.
crossbow OP
I beat everything with tier 2 Spider Armor and the Spider Dagger with the assassin mutation, parry master, and coup de grass being the mandatory equipment.
I do mix in the bow sometimes but the dagger is very quick and lets you jump in and out with ease allowing for aggression and evasion much like the spiders it comes from.
I do this until Candy Staves are unlocked after which those become my go to, but I still have a mixed build setup where I use weapons that pick on weaknesses the best, so something salty and stabby and even the Mint Mace still stick with me along with a Widow Dagger for enemies like the Mantis.
This time I did finally snag Pinch Whacker and will give it a go a few times on the Asst Manager but I may revert to my old strategy, it's always worked. Of course preparation is key. Bandages, stack of smoothies and healbasas. I do that whenever it's time to tackle a lab or one of the many dungeon like areas in this game. Insurance and all that.
That's actually impressive. Whack him a few times with a leveled up tier 2 hammer and you've got him! Watch out for the lasers after he's dead..they complete their cycle and won't immediately turn off after you've killed him.
