Are there any clues ingame that hint towards there being a lab at castle moldorc?
Im at the point where i want to go there to progress but it wouldnt fell right to have the knowledge to go there from the internet instead of finding something ingame like a note or something. Or should i have wendell travel with me and hell eventually hint at it?

As far as I know no, except wendell's comments about being watched I guess - I think you're just meant to find it through exploration. There's a locked door for it in a visible area so it doesn't seem like they wanted it to be hard to find. You just can't get inside without wendell

For sure they didn't make the place particularly appealing, so that people would go there and hardly miss the lab, either.

It's possibly the only large area in the whole yard that you can't reach with parkour, requiring mandatory building to access, amidst swarms of annoying mosquitoes. And there isn't even any meaningful resource in there, except for one or two molars.

No quest or hint actively points at that place, so you must really willing to explore everything to even find the lab entrance. And then, you have no clue about how it will open, nor other reasons to go back there to collect anything.
