Upgrades

If I upgrade a piece of armor or a weapon, and then craft a new one of the same piece, will the new one have the upgrade, or will I need to upgrade again? Also, how can I repair items? I saw something about repair glue, but the source said it was for level 5+ items.

for repairs i look at them in the inventory, hilight them there, and hit the repair option if i have all the materials needed... no idea about upgrading stuff, though... have only 6 hours in-game

You have to upgrade each weapon/armor piece individually. If you craft a new weapon you´ll have to upgrade it again.

Regarding repairs: You need the resources which you used to craft the weapon in order to repair it.

Once your weapon upgrade level surpasses lvl 5 you have to use repair glue for which you´ll need the glue masher that you get after turning in the super chip from the black ant hill.

No. Separate clothing items, even of the same type, do not share upgrade progress. That's why you always want to repair your armor.

Also note that if you have a weapon on your hotbar and improve that your hotbar will need to be reset to use that upgraded weapon. It will stay set on the old one which does not exist anymore. Minor inconvenience but it got me confused first time I went to try out my improved hammer. Said I didn't have one which is technically true as I didn't have my basic hammer anymore. Bit strange how the hotbar doesn't recognise the slotted weapon has improved.

i think that would be classified as a bug... if/when i see it, i will likely report is as a bug, too... unless they fix it before hand, of course

Just saying but if you want a copy of upgraded gears, you can dup using sciences in burgle lab. The copied gear will have the upgraded level too.

It’s also worth noting that if you have a piece of gear you do like and are going to upgrade the item will be fully repaired each time you upgrade it. Could be a way to save on repair costs till that 5+ and repair glue.
