Grounded on Switch
Could this see more updates or DLC for the PC? It will certainly make grounded more popular.

Grounded is a quite demanding title, so it's hard to say if it would even be playable on the Switch (even though that didn't stop some companies to still throw big open world games onto there)

As for the updates i've heard, that the leading dev said, that they want to add things, as long as they're allowed to, so i wouldn't be surprised, if we get more content, after all we've still at least the veranda which seems quite out of place with its emptyness. and i wouldn't be surprised, if the shed and something regarding the house might get added over time. But obviously that's just me hoping to get these things more than anything else^^

It is reasonable to assume that the release on a new platform means that the game isn't going to be abandoned soon, at the very least.

Hopefully the Switch can handle at least minimum settings.

Indeed, the house porch is a very empty area that could possibly be filled later.

I'm skeptical about the shed, because according to the wiki it's been scrapped for good and some of its original assets have been recycled for the brawny boy bin, like the wasp nest.

Still, this shows that unused assets could appear later in a different form than originally planned.

For now grounded is microsoft exclusive, so PC and xbox only.

The chance to be on another platform is grim.

Edit: I saw the annoucement JUST AFTER I posted this message lol, nvm.

I wouldn't call it "grim" anymore, if it already got a release date^^

Ho wait the title and desc is different topic sorry XD.

Yes, pretty sure it'll have more contents, but I don't expect massive update tbh.

"Grounded – also from Obsidian Entertainment – a co-op survival adventure phenomenon that has welcomed 20 million players into the backyard, will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on April 16. Cross play will be supported across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC. "

The game is coming to switch and the graphics you can tell are on super low, there is a trailer on YouTube for it, a lot of it in slow motion probably to hide the fact that the fps is probably 30 or even lower, so I don’t think it’s gonna be a great experience on switch it will look bad and run poorly but it is at least offcially announced and it’s got cross play so switch players can play with Xbox and pc players

I am sorry guys but I have bad new for you... when the 1.3 Update came, the devs said than they can't add a lot of things in the game because the game is pushed at its limits with optimisation and memory... they said they can't add new areas and for example they said they cut the Shed because of memory problems for the game... they said they want the game to run on Xbox even the old gen so all of that just destroyed ALL my hopes for the game... so if the game is coming for SWITCH now... that mean this is worst because they should thinking of Switch now when they make updates... and we all know the Switch is a limited console... so that mean they can't make a lot of new things... and I am sad about it... if they focused on next gen consoles like Xbox Series X/S and PS5 and Pc they can ADD SOOO MOREEE things in updates but they want Xbox ONE / PS4 and Switch to run things well... I really want new updates... the house porch / veranda area is the area I really want to be updated SO much, I was suprised when 1.0 came and this zone wan't made... but lest be honnest... that will be complicated.. they also said than everything they want to add in the game even the most simple little things take them MORE work than usual due to the code / memory problems of the game... that sad... I am also surprised than the game have "limited memory" problem even on OLD Gen consoles, when we saw GTA V / Red Dead 2 etc.. run pretty good on Old Gen, and I am pretty sure theses games need MORE memory than Grounded so I don't undestand why they said that.. Grounded is really beautiful but why can't it run better than GTA V and others ? They codded the game wrong ? Idk... I wish they port the game on Unreal Engine 5 one day I think that would make the GAME Better ! More beautiful / more FPS and more / easier things to add... <3

My hypothesis is that it's not about overall size of the game, but rather about memory usage AT ONCE, meaning RAM and/or video memory.

If you think about it, the shed interior would be more demanding than the rest of the map in terms of video memory, because unlike open areas and caves, everything in the background would still be relatively close. The game would be forced to render all the interior at once at anytime.

But if I'm right, more caves, labs, and limited areas such as the brawny boy bin are still possible. Even the house porch would be a possibility.

I hope... the SHED is MY DREAM ! Just imagine going inside and look up to see how far is the ceiling etc... insane ! <3
