- Make sure grounded has the right audio device in it's settings.
- Make sure your audio drivers are updated if you're using something like Razor headsets.
- Make sure there aren't any issues with your audio device.
But you claim this has all been done, so moving forward, you may need to verify files/re-install.
You (both or "friend") don't, perchance, have another VoIP app running as well, do you?
Discord, Team Speak, or something similar?
They (Grounded and another VoIP app) may "not like each other".
This is something to explore.
Also, I have a very weird issue with the game where, my audio gets set to other players in a multiplayer game. So, if I'm listening to music they hear it out their speakers. This doesn't happen with any other game or app and I don't even have a mic connected to the computer.
I can think of a whole lot of things you could try, that you may have all ready, such as:
Check your volume mixer
Disable any virtual sound drivers and programs, restart before testing change
Check App Volume and Device Preferences in widows settings
People have reported issues when plugging in devices after the game was turned on
In the Audio settings on the game, turn off Voice Chat Activation and make sure the Master volume is appropriately set.

There is a chance this entire issue is a compatibility problem, so reaching out to the support team to give them the specs of your computers would be needed to begin resolving this if that's the case.
