Nope does not work with xbox online friends, tried it several times and it wont let you invite them to game.
This. Works. It's kinda odd but then again...when you've played a couple of Windows Store exclusives you'll get used to this strange lobby mechanic I guess.
Its the same as playing a game needing Origin or Ubisoft. Who cares. Make the Xbox account. It's not a big deal. First world problems. Man. Must be tough.
A lot of players think because they buy it on Steam, it's a steam release without looking to see who the publisher is. Ubisoft? It's on the Ubisoft store. EA? Origin. Microsoft? Xbox Store. The benefit of getting something on Steam and having to use a third party launcher is that you can still use your steam window options. It can be inconvenient, but people expect to be told and handed everything without researching or at least taking 10 seconds to look. It's a bit sad.
