Grinding for boss trinkets

I know they're like a 1%~ drop and you can get them from stealing and if you save when the boss dies but hasn't been 'looted' yet it'll be the same drops each time, I'm wondering if anyone has tested and proven if you were to get a boss summoning item and save before you summon said boss, then killed, looted and got no trinket, if you were able to load that save before you summoned it, and kill it over again to hope to get the trinket? or if the drops seem to be predetermined already, like on the first kill you'll always get 5 parts, and 2 venoms, then only on the 25th or so kill it's a guaranteed trinket drop, not because of a pity mechanic, but because of the seed of your world had already said what you'll get on which drop when.

The drop will always be different every time you fight a boss from spawning it, but as far as rolling for said trinket goes, you're better off with Dissection Expert (and maybe the stuffed insect buff) and the two chances at stealing (with the perk and with the trinket) and reloading your save from there instead of doing the whole fight every load.

Don't waste time killing and looting it, just steal the trinkets.

Put on Rascal Rogue and Sticky Fingers and punch the boss until you steal two items from it. If neither item was the trinket, reload. It doesn't take very long at all. You steal 2 items very quickly, and you have a 1/23 chance that each item you steal is the trinket.

After I got the trinket, I'd let them kill me, switch to a proper build and save again. Then save scum the kill until I got Gold Card.

This. I got mantis trinket months before I got the kill on it from a random practice attempt with just rascal rogue (didn’t even have sticky fingers yet). And that was maybe only the 4th or 5th attempt that day.
