Will this game get more story content?

I know there was a big update recently, but it was mainly for custom builds. Any chance we will see more content update like story and bugs?

after the infected broodmother, i'm not really looking forward to finding out that schmector has put guns on a bug or something

that being said, i feel like this game could use an outdoor battle arena somewhere in the story mode

they just announced 1.4 will be the final content update and it wont focus on sandbox stuff so itll probably add to the campaign or "survival" mode.

I think there's enough to work with here to keep this title moving for a good few years. UE5 is a tank of an engine. I will say though, I am quite surprised not to see an Ant Man game yet. We've seen all manner of other games derived from the MCU, including Guardians of the Galaxy. I think Ant Man would be an Embiggened hit, if done well. Could even do an Ant-Man/Wasp team for multiplayer. But that's a different matter entirely.

Grounded is sitting atop a massive stockpile of potential, so I really see no reason not to keep things going until we reach a point where it simply becomes necessity for a Grounded 2, or Grounded Again (it sounds amusing), perhaps one where, to root out the corruption of Ominent, we have to switch between the Full Size and Micro-sized worlds throughout the game.

Can you link that? Can't seem to find that statement that 1.4 will be the last content update.

Its worded very strangely so its possible hes saying last update (for the year) but i feel like he wouldnt say last update at all then. Of course if theres something before that that clarifies it i dont know. I dont want to get my hopes up though, it sounds like theyre packing up for their next project.

Just skimming that video it seems to be a youtuber just making speculation. Especially around the 3:40 min mark. Until we have the devs themselves say it's the last update then it's just wasted time guessing on it.

No there's a clip from the dev stream saying its the last update. Its 30 seconda into the video you didnt watch it and you clearly failed to skim it because you wouldve seen the preview of a stream overlay. Dont ask people to provide a source if you arent even gonna look at it.

100% should be the sandbox castle. I'd love to see a way down through the castle, under the sandbox where we are met with that Bearded Dragon (they love to burrow)
Also (and) Queens added with different rewards between the different type of ants and termite.

But two major things need to happen first...

1) Snails. It feels weird being in a garden and not having them and maybe you could use them to lure out the Bearded Dragon? also snail slime could be a fun item.
Also, look up Snails effected by Fungi, it'd be fun lol

2) a better amour/weapon system that doesn't just offer surface level progression but options. Currently it only seems like that is how it is setup, surface level, but in reality when one weapon/set of armour is the "best" over others of the same tier and not just different options for them, it feels a bit shallow and borderline meta.

That could literally be taken in multiple ways as the youtuber said himself at 3:45: "we can speculate all we want". Unless you're new to how companies work with successful products it's unlikely to be the final update with content. Especially with MS being the publisher. If MS thinks there is more money to be made with the title then they will tell them to add more content to sell. It's possible they plan on doing a second entry instead but I'd wager it'll be the same engine and same gameplay just new characters, map, and bugs. At that point it could just be a DLC.

In all honesty I don't care for anyone's guess as to how Grounded will end or when. I only care when the studio officially announces that they are done working on it. The rest is pointless speech. So if you can reference to a statement made by the studio, or MS itself, saying Grounded is finishing updates with 1.4 then that'd be real peachy.
