End game overall, Spicy Coaltana or Toenail Scimitar ?
Which of the two, would be the most "usefull" endgame/higher zones ?
For day to day farm (Killing simple stuff)
and For the End game bosses ?

I use the rusty spear when i got resource farming and any other bug (Ox, Spiders, Ladybird etc) i just use the ox crossbow (I cheese them with the high ground). But i kinda feel the need to a tier3 sword for the daily stuff.
And i havent done any of the late bosses (From the spider on)

For me, I'm a Tiger Mosquito Needle fan, with a Sour Staff habit.

coaltana tends to cover most of the common mobs, in particular spiders. the other two elemental weapons you have immediate access to are better for the upper yard mobs. health drain weapons are nice early to midgame, but tend to fall off later when enemies deal damage faster than you can regenerate with them, and you're better off ending fights faster and focusing on perfect blocks, which two handed weapons excel at. (while the salt morningstar isn't a two handed weapon, the bleeds that it causes are very damaging.) health drain/regen can become a viable tactic again once you get the perks and trinkets for it, but that happens later.

after you get candy staves, the spicy staff will solve a significant number of problems for you once you get it leveled up. the other two staves require more skill to use, but i wouldn't really consider using the minty one especially now since the mint mace automatically AoEs every third hit, and that can add up when combined with another AoE trinket like giddy goop

the sour battleaxe is very good, but you'll have to get it late game after clearing most of the story challenges. it's also a bit challenging to use in extended fights compared to most other weapons, because it is very easy to dump all your stamina in the pursuit of big numbers and then accidentally get exhausted when you need to block

For infected broodmother? Yes a toenail scimitar is going to be best. I also used it for my first widow fight. For basically everything else, no not worth it. People are talking about the mint mace but I never found it in my playthrough (till I searched how to obtain the minotaur key), so I made a fresh rusty spear instead and also used the mint staff that was the best AoE fresh damage I got. In fact, I made a staff oriented build cuz I loved using them. Beat the game only using staffs on medium difficulty.

That said where is a salty staff?

My first Widow lived in the Tree Stump and met her end by Extreme Range Spicy Staff. She could never crawl out of the hole where she lived to do anything about being roasted alive. One of the easiest fights so far.

As for where's the Salty version... the plans are on the kitchen table, inside the house, still at normal size.

yeah, you can hope for bugs getting stuck on things, but it's not reliable and you should always plan on getting chased by death wherever you're going

(and there is no way you are going to avoid being attacked by the undershed widow or the one guarding the milk molar cave, so you are going to have to learn somehow unless you have a friend to carry you)

The endgame weapon i use the most in the upper yard is a fresh rusty spear. It's great at killing ants and ladybird larva. I use a mighty version for black widows.

For ladybirds i carry a fresh black ox hammer, for black ox beetles the salt morningstar. That, a spicy termite axe and the wasp bow are usually my standard loadout and they also deal with pretty much anything in the lower yard too.

Against infected bugs specifically a fresh toenail scimitar is fantastic, but it's not very useful otherwise. The spicy staff is great too (use it to kill spiderlings, widowlings, red & black ants and orb weavers) and for wasps the sour staff is the best weapon by far (just spam the charge attack at them).

The coaltana i only carry when going to farm the broodmother, it's not worth it for wolf spiders since my axe is spicy already and in the upper yard spicy & slashing (or slashing in general) isn't very useful so it's not worth the slot.

Swords kinda hit their peak around mid-late tier 2 when you fight ants, spiders and antlions, all of which are weak to slashing. At tier 3 you'll generally be looking for busting or piercing on most common enemies.

As far as bosses go:
- Broodmother: Coaltana (+ Spicy Staff for the adds)
- Mantis: Salt Morning Star
- Wasp Queen: Sour Staff
- IBM: Fresh Toenail Scimitar

I find the spicy staff also gets a lot of attack uptime during broodmother fight because she has the annoying tendency to immediately leap back after one (or sometimes zero) combo and then just kind of sits in the back of the arena for a few seconds before slowly crawling towards you, and that's all time you can spend hurling spicy shots at her. In fact, you might as well put the wizard perk on instead of your sword perk because of all the time she spends there, which gets more economy from the burn damage you cause over the sword perks. I've gotten so used to her leaping back that I even manage to correctly block the shockwave that she does with it.
