Is there any way to get Dr. Tully to stop following my character?

I've made it to the end game, but saved before completing to come back and continue building. Reloading my save, Tully was at the machine and I assumed he would stay there. He hasn't. I've been knocked off of zip lines several times by him, he constantly gets in the way and is of no use. Please give us a way to make him stop following.

If you look directly at him it should give you an option to make him stay.

Yep, tell him to leave you alone before you call an adult.

Or, if you really want him to leave you alone, build a small, mushroom brick "shed", lure him inside, then replace the door with a wall and give him the Edger Allen Poe treatment.
