Stinkbug Gold card is bugged with the waft emitter

So I've killed over 600 stinkbugs through the waft emitter with no gold card drop and before you say it's just bad RNG hear me out.

As I was grinding out stinkbugs I thought it was just bad luck that was preventing the gold card drop until I noticed some other bugs that were taking place.

For starters the Guard Dog mutation does not work on them, even though it's suppose to. And it's not the mutation that's bugged because I tested and confirmed it does work on other creatures. So that's already one bug with these summoned stinkers.

Also you're suppose to be able to summon green shield bugs occasionally through placing stinkbug and/or green shield bug parts in the waft emitter. After killing over 600 of them, I can confidently tell you not a single green shield bug spawned. And I loaded the emitter up with a ton of valuable parts including several super stink sacks and green shield bug parts. This only resulted in a staggering amount of stinkbug spawns (LOL) From what I hear this bug only occurs on worlds that have progressed past a certain point before the update and not on fresh worlds.

Anyway, considering stinkbugs from waft emitter raids are bugged in other ways I'm more inclined to believe the gold card is also bugged.

However, I can confirm that the gold card still drops from normal stinkbugs in the world and that's how I ended up getting it in the end. Anyway, waft with caution!

It's the reverse of that. Fresh saves work, old saves don't, from what I have read.

You have to complete up to a certain point in the game to unlock Green Shield Bugs ability to spawn in raids.

For new saves, this triggers properly when you get to that point in the game.
For saves from before 1.3, where you already completed that, it isn't seeing that you already completed it, and thus it never unlocks.

EDIT: I am on a new save now, and Stinkbugs are coming up in my Waft Emitter Goldathon. I'll let you know if I see Greens, and if I get the Gold from raid Stinkbugs, in a new save.

Maybe I worded it weird but yes the gold card not dropping and all other bugs related to stinkbugs and the waft emitter are for old saves not new ones. If you can get the gold card to drop in a new save then that confirms that the bugs are most likely connected.

Did you notice if your kill count was still going up for raid-stinkbug kills?

I just noticed that the kill count for Mosquitoes isn't going up when I do Mosquito raids.
Tiger Mosquito kills are going up, and I got that Gold a long time ago, but regular Mosquitoes are frozen at 91 for some reason.

Could mean that I can't get the Mosquito Gold Card from raids right now. My kill count goes up when I kill skeeters in the world, just not in raids.

Yes, it does still go up.

Poop, was hoping there was a correlation there. Wonder why my Mosquito kill count isn't going up in raids.

Edit: Even in a new creative save, mosquitoes from raids don't increase my kill count. Anybody else?

I can definitely confirm Green Shield Bugs can spawn in raids in new save files. I used the Super Duper to dupe enough Super Stink Sacks to completely fill the Waft Emitter (only 950 Raw Science each), and I got 4 Green Shield Bugs in just the first wave.

I can confirm that green shield bugs can spawn in a waft raid on a pre-1.3 save, and that stinkbugs in a waft raid on that same pre-1.3 save got me the gold card. (Can't say anything for green shield bug gold cards in waft raids - got lucky very early on with those.)

I've yet to use a Waft Emitter, but then, I've not been chasing The Questing Beast of collecting all the gold cards either. I did build one though, just haven't burnt any offerings on that altar yet.

I blame RNGesus. Everything that goes wrong is his fault.
