Dandelion Tufts not working?

Im new to the game so I dont know how they used to work, but when i have them in my inv, the game says its shift to use one but nothing happens when jumping, falling, or standing still. What am I doing wrong

It used to be a trinket you had to equip, but now you should just have to have a dandelion in your inventory, and press Left Shift when falling.

If you have any in your inventory, you should see an icon for it in the bottom right corner of your screen telling you how many are in your inventory.

You use up one of them each time you use it. You have to be high enough to need it though, Jumping straight up and hitting Left Shift won't do anything.

Oh, the trinket is still there. Just a rare drop from dandelions now and they look like the regular tufts so you just have to pick up a bunch until you find one that has stars around its icon in your inventory.
It's called the Fluffy Dandelion Tuft.

A friend of mine also has that issue. They usually work, but sometimes they just don't, so he falls and takes damage. We've only found one of the fluffy ones so far on our current playthrough, which I offered to him but he refused. Anyway, the problem remains that they kind of stop working randomly, no matter what height he jumps from. It worked just fine for him before the big patch though. And no, he didn't just run out of tufts, since we got a few hundred of them searching for the fluffy one, so he always got enough to carry around.

Yeah it seems to be buggy on when it decides to work. I think I'll just get the reduced fall damage perk from now on

The normal tufts are working just fine when they are in the inventory.
The rare fluffy tuft has to still be equipped in the accessoire slot to be activate. Wish that wasnt the case.
