Explain to me the point of ladders?
I'm missing something, probably, as I'm still new to the game!

The ladders can't be stacked one on top of another. And you can jump from one floor to another set one wall high from each other. So basically you can make a crude stair and forego the ladder.

they can be stacked but there needs to be a wall behind it. i dont like that i cant carry anything while on ladders such as planks and stems. for the most part, it is easier using mushroom half walls or clover roofs to ascend

da.mn. I feel I spent 2500 precious raw sciences for not much use.

I've played this game for the last year and have never used a ladder. because they are slow to climb mostly. I'm okay with that,

The point of ladders is to climb up or even down xD

You can make a ladder of all kinds, even with grass planks.
They are a bit useless because of their weird placements but sometimes they are handy.
I always use 1 at start of the game near the hamster.
Then I can climb out that hole and don't have to go through the whole cave. But other than that I don't use them. I use bounce webs to go up fast.

This. First time I built a ladder, tried to climb it with building materials for next floor and realized I couldn’t it was a moment of “Well that’s worthless.” Deleted the ladder and will likely never use it again.

I'm happy to see I have raised a point of concern!

that's not even a thing to be concern about.
The gamebreaking glitches is more a thing and that's why I stopped playing this game.
Has no use to play it again. I already played it till the end.
Fun game but not with those glitches anymore.

AFAIK

- ladders can be stacked if attached/supported probably
- ladders are one of the cheapest climbing/ascending utilities
- bugs can't climb ladders but should be able to walk on a staircase, so ladder could counter bugs trying to get into your base or platform via staircases

the big con to ladders are that spiral staircase does everything a ladder does but better albeit slightly more expensive

I use ladders pretty regularly, especially to reach places that are either annoying to get to, or where I simply don't belong yet, and have no problem stacking one on top of another.

Yes, they can be slightly challenging to build as they get taller, as pallets have a limited "range" and they can be less convenient than simply building a grass psudo-stair, consisting of a grass wall and a grass floor, placed half-height on the wall, but.. they work just fine.

Used a nice ladder column to reach the Sandbox without traversing the Black Ant Colony, and still use it as it is much faster and easier to reach where I want to go when farming Ant Lions.

I have used ladders in front of the large windows, making them feel less open. Though it would be nice if there would be future window frames and/or window shutters in the game.

Don't feel bad unless you don't plan on getting 100% in the game as you need to buy all of the raw science stuff as part of the requisite to get 100%.

I use ladders in most of my outpost builds as using other things are ugly, but if you don't care about looks there's not much point using them

They can be stacked, & can free-stand. (Not certain how old this post is.)
I am currently using them to hang firefly lanterns from the "New Hedge" treebush near Castle Moldorc.

F*ck, I was so convinced of them being useless I didn't thought of that.
I'll keep it in mind for the next run.
