Not every developer can put out tools like that, and imo it's unfair to ask it of them. Imagine pouring your passion into a game and 10 minutes after it's officially released, half the threads are: "modz wen?".
No one can seem to be satisfied with the experience the developers intended anymore because of those games I listed literally spoiled everyone into NEEDING the game to be tailored to their tastes. Look at you! "without mods for me to play my way" How insulting to the developers.
So in turn it put most modders off modding the game completely.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is on purpose though as there was mostly just cheaty mods being made. Hopefully if the devs do stop updating the game they do release some tools.
To be fair, I have modded almost every game I have played, right back from the original Doom, through to Baldurs Gate. The devs back then did not lock their code, so it was free for everyone to add their take on things. It's something that has changed over the years, and I understand why, but I like to customize things. If you buy a brand new car and like the seat, great, but if you don't you should be free to switch it out. It's no insult, it's just preference. It's just my opinion and the way I like to play. But as I said, this game was bought for me to play with my boy who is only 8 and struggles to cope when it gets tough or repetitive. And as I have more than one kid, I can't play the game with him all the time. Mods can allow me to play in a more suitable way for me.
But no, game dont "need" modding. If i read all of that, you'r just a mod junkies.
In grounded, you have perk to go faster, gear to go faster, food to go faster, zipline to travel acroos all the garden. And you still need speed mod ?
You'r are just mod dependends at this point...
But we digress from the actual question that I asked in this thread. It has been answered.
That's why they dont need mods. It's cool when you have mods, but you dont need them. If you need mods to apreciate a game, you'r part of a minority who cant play anymore without mods, which is sad it's my opinion.
Skyrim can be played without mod, but it's cool to have them. Look at Darkest dungeon, a great game before modding was enable, and there's plenty of exemple.
If peoples mod games with passion, it's not because they need these mod, but because it's more fun to mod a allready great game.
And, "with authority" ? Touch some grass
If you got your response, you can pin it
And that mods does not necessarily make a game great, but a great game attract modders to enhance it.
