wasp drone is impossible to kill
his salt sickness doesnt help, my salty arrows deals so little damage to him, and he heals himself so fast, and he is always far from me in the air, so i cant even hit him with my melee weapon
this mf gets on my nerves, how am i supposed to kill him?

Moth Armor's Bleed Effect + Level 7 Black Ox + Splinter Arrows or Spicy Arrows w/ Maxed Sharpshooter is how I do it.

Bleed takes care of most of the self healing they do.
The Sharpshooter effect causes Spicy to apply a burn DoT.

Found this out not too long ago and killing wasps is cheese

I'm just using a black ox crossbow, salt arrows, and when they fly in close, smack em with a salt morning star. I do try to aggro just one wasp at a time.
Make Pollen Arrows, it causes flying creatures to go towards the ground. EZ kills on them from there with the Widow Dagger.

Friendly reminder to always check your new recipes and what they do.

My question on the pollen arrows is does a decent pollen source exist? Whenever I've checked around the flower beds I've only gotten maybe 1 or 2 of the stuff.

You can cut down flowering dandelions, they usually drop some pollen.
Ok reporting back after testing pollen arrows. Absolutely worthless. The knockdown doesn't last long enough from them to accomplish anything.

Thanks for sharing this

Luckily I haven´t made those arrows yet and won´t bother now after seeing how useless they are and yes I agree the wasps are not fair play.

My experience as well. It took several shots to bring them down, then by the time you run over to them to melee, they take off again. Maybe in co-op it would be useful, one person grounds them, the others rush in.
I think it's supposed to "stun" them but their Stun time is set to 0 or nearly 0 for some reason. I main Mage playstyle, so I have been killing them with the Sour Staff (which is awfully slow but does enough damage), and when they drop out of the sky from Stun, it's the same thing, they get up almost instantly.

The regular Wasps are fine, I've had no issues with them, but the Drones are just awful design. Not fun to play against, and just tedious and time consuming fights. Messed with them enough to get into the box and get the loot, but I think I'm done fighting them if I can avoid it.

The one saving grace I've found is the Wasp Drone patterns are exceptionally easy to read. The figure 8 healing move will always end on the same location they launched, and they're pretty stationary otherwise, which does let me blast a few shots into them to keep chipping them down, but I'm fully geared for offensive magic (R9 Wizard Hat/Moth Armor & Legs, R8 staves), so I can imagine anyone less geared would find it nearly impossible to out-damage their healing.

Drones should not be more challenging than Black Ox Beetles in 1 on 1s.

So, the wasp armor is supposed to increase the stun time. I upgraded a set to level 8 and gave it a try. Stun might last a little longer, but it's still just a few seconds with the pollen arrows. That's not worth the materials to craft or even the inventory slot.

I don't find that they are that difficult, killed over 20 wasps and drones so far, but I guess they are supposed to spread throughout the yard, and that doesn't sound fun.

wasps are easy, but wasp drones are impossible
how do you kill wasp drones, which weapon do you use? maybe some tactics?

Just after my post I had a wasp raid at my base, with 3 drones, it was a bit crazy. I didn't bother with the pollen arrows at all.

I do have mostly end game gear/stats which certainly helps. My fighting strategy so far: a level 8 ox crossbow with salt arrows, level 9 morning star, level 9 roly poly armor (or latest fights level 7 wasp). I have everything maxed with molars so full health, stamina. Mutations that matter were meat shield, buff lungs, cardio. Does mithridatism help or is that just spiders? I'll have to try it. I still haven't tried setting up mutation loadouts. Anyway, after their first hit I'll use a waspidote, and then beefy fuzz if needed. In the box it might be a little easier, since you can find places to duck under to they can only come at you from one direction.
