which I don't think is a helpful info for someone new to the game
3-4 Hours assuming you did research and knew what exactly to do where to go etc. and skipped any farming for base building etc. and just went with the most basic setup ever and played on easy/normal then yea anybody can probably beat the game in 3-4 hours without trying too hard. Most survival games have their playtime massively extended through "side" content such as farming or traversing big open maps. Typically the start - end goals of this genre isn't very long
There is a lot of enemies and environmental hazards to deal with.
Despite it being about being short, it is in fact not short.
