are feather arrows worth the hassle?

tested both thistle and feather, and the damage feels quite similar, but if I'm missing the extra meat on the bones then please let me know. as good as melee is, I want to implement archery into my combat for more flexibility. and it would be real helpful to know if tracking feathers with the survey machine and hunting them down plus turning my web fibers into silk is worth it over easily amassing hundreds of thistle arrows from a single flower and some mite kills.

Only if you want to make elemental arrows with them or have a ton of excess feathers, otherwise skip them, save your feathers and wait for splinter arrows.

yes splinter arrows are the best for a bow, i used them only for those flying glow in the dark insects, 2 shots and they are insect-parts
the best weapon is a toenail-sword and a shield, and the black widow knife with poison.

I just got the second super chip so hopefully I’ll be able to unlock the splinters soon. I sorta know where they are, just need to get the right armor to not burn from the damn coal pit. Thank you for the answer.

Just jump on the rim of the bbq cover/lid and you can get to upper yard without going through the coals.

I'd suggest building yourself a jump tower and zipline on top of the wall. You'll want the shortcut anyway so you don't have to run the long way around all the time, so you may as well build one now. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes if you don't get too fancy.

Yes, feather arrows are worth it. They fly straighter than the splinter ones, and you can duplicate them using the Wasp Queen trinket. This means infinite arrows.

I appreciate the kindness, friend. Really do. But I think I would like to experience everything by working for it first, since I’m still on my first real playthrough. I haven’t even touched creative mode yet.

Actually I was able to get past the grill by hopping on the lip of the lid and walked on it all the way up. I appreciate the post, though.
