that is definitely bad luck, and I feel your pain. took me days and days worth of hours to get the fungal trinket.
I don't think save scumming works tbh. I've seen and heard conflicting reports about this. some say it works, some say it doesn't.
I tried it once with the wasp queen, must have reloaded around 30 times, and I didn't get the drop. yet, fighting her just a handful of times, I have a few of her trinkets now.
although, iirc, it does have a 5% higher drop chance than the others?
please correct me if I'm wrong there XD
Save scumming does work as that's how I got my salty trinket. About 4 or 5 reloads in the antlion den full of salt crystals and I had it.
it's just that, in my testing, on numerous occasions, it has never worked.
one might say that it's simply due to bad rng, but I've reloaded 30-40 times, each time I tested, and it never made a difference.
I am curious, how long ago this worked for you? I have this vague memory, that save scumming was patched at some point. maybe I'm wrong there.
all I know, in my experience, it does not work
