Looks like I did. I wish that would've been explained in-game or something, I didn't even know there was a manual save option. :(
I think it was rational to expect auto-save to work. After all, what makes anyone think manually clicking "save" will be any more reliable?
That's exactly what I was thinking.
When you create a Shared world, the prompt says, "Shared worlds are saved online." And when you "Superquit" the prompt says: "A save will be made for you upon logging out."
Both prompts lead you to assume that auto-save should work when you the host of a world quits.
