I specifically targeted weavils because the bow feels very weak and they are easy to kill and was hoping that the mutation would buff damage
The little red lawn mites are the best thing to farm for weapon kills. Probably around 40 or more of them near the sideways branch and paint can area. Few other spots they are at as well.
I've always had problems with thrown melee weapons. I just don't think they are worth the hassle at all.
Biggest thing being that they don't stack so you have to balance how much "ammo" you want to carry and how often you want to run around picking up your weapons again...and hoping none of them clipped through the terrain...
I do believe we need a T3 bow but honestly even by end game the tier 3 cbow holds up really well for targets weak to piercing damage. I'd take that over 3 - 5 wasted inventory slots any day, especially now that bows and cbows can block which removed what was probably their biggest weakness.
