Offline User/ Or unable to host Multiplayer game

So I've played grounded when it first came out a few years back. Loved it, but stopped due to the game starting to say Offline user and never being able to play with friends

Buddy got me into it again recently, it worked, but then yesterday boom Offline user cant play multiplayer. Spent a few hours troubleshooting, got it to accept me after multiple restarts and updates to computer, wouldn't let me host a game, restart my computer again and boom back to being an offline user

this is getting so frustrating, I would appreciate some help if anyone knows fixes or workarounds. although i have already scoured the internet for answers, yet these issues still plague the game after years, which is a shame because it is actually fun

Having the same issue. However, I did notice if I launch from a shortcut I am an "offline user" but if I launch from my library it properly logs me in. Still cannot play multiplayer. Might resolve one part of your issue I hope.

I forgot to add this. My wife had the same issues until she created a new xbox account. For some reason her current account didn't let Grounded work properly.

In short. Only launch the game from your steam library and create a new xbox account to use just for the game.

No luck, I've found a way to somewhat consistently fix the offline user error. (I need to play the game off the Xbox app) But I cannot seem to fix the problem of not being able to host. Its very finicky. In the last 3 days out of countless tries and lots of hours ive been able to host twice, otherwise it just says somethings went wrong. Its starting to crush my soul

made a new account and does the same thing I am logged in to xbox , then i got to muti player and it logs me out and says i need to be logged in and asks me to log in again. I have done this 10 times in a row. Lets face it they broke the game...i mean can no one make a patch for a game these games and FULLY test it? I mean it seams like they test a few things and say good enough...send it!!! oh and on another note if you type to fast it brings up the options menu, it is not a key i am hitting, but when i log in to xbox window is in front (disables the game in the back) if i type to fast as i am putting my login in, if the first thre char are typed to fast it bring up the options menu in the game and i have to hit the esc button to get back to the xbox login screen. I have try to type 111 really fast does the same and if i type any char like 123 really fast does the same.... I mean really WTF?

THANK YOU!! About a year later and they still haven't fixed the stupid start from shortcut blocks logging in problem. So happy you posted this as I was going to delete the game cuz suddenly I couldn't play multiplayer because I couldn't get logged in.
