I think there is only one of them that attack from the air (far west side) so you need to make sure the mix.r has tall enough walls and layers on top to protect from the mosquitoes attacking straight down. Turrets are very helpful bringing them down.
If I clear the area of grass and have a huge stack of it available, I will use them for extra walls on the outside. It also helps using them as stand-alone wall structures since they can aggro to anything you build which gives you even more time to snipe/distract them from your main fortification.
I have done all but the last 2 super mix.r so far and this has worked very well for me. They typically do not get past the inner-most 1/2 walls...even with the explosions in haze area.

I have finished all of the MIX.R now. The most difficult was the one closest to the castle....soo many tiger mosquitoes. I should have used a turret and it would have been about the same difficulty as the other super MIX.R.
To protect against the flyers, I place grass floors as the roof over the MIX.R to completely enclose it. Then I completely cover the roof with as many 1/2 height mushroom walls as I can fit on the longitude, latitude and diagonal.
