Bulky or Sleek?

I'm particularly thinking about Antlion armor (which seems to have a rather limited special) but a more general approach to the problem is also good.

Antlion armor's sleek bonus only decreases your thirst draining rate (you need to drink less often). Which is a non-issue, because by the time you craft that armor, you should be well organized with flasks and dew collectors in strategic places already (plus they recently added water dispensers inside labs).

So, in this case, I'd say bulky for extra protection without doubt.

Yeah, Bulky is a nice way to go for that set. It's only 10% resistance points away from matching the heftiest armor in the game.
