Smoothie Farm? Easiest Base to Bulk? Grub, Gum, Muscle Sprouts?
I would carry a shovel so if I see the grub digging in my day to day, I'd gather it then so I don't feel as burnt out by running to their spots using the resource locator. Most of them I see are by the red tree, and I pass by there here and there.
I completely avoided using the gum or sprouts since I don't like using rare items I can't get often, if they're consumables. But I read about how Muscle Sprouts respawn at the pond lab, and I already tried it and it did. I went back to get some more once my base's toadstool respawned, and the sprouts grew back, so I figured that'd be a good way to tell when they're ready.
But last time the toadstool grew back, the muscles still weren't.
My base's mushroom spawn grows back faster tho so I don't know how often I should check.

Are the muscle sprouts the most convenient to get in large amounts?
I'd assume grub respawns more often, but I wanted to see if anyone recommends one over the other.

I don't care for the bonuses as much. I just like the instant heal. Faster than the mosquito bag, and can stack in more amounts.

IMO sprouts, once available in their main location, are the most easily farmable smoothie base, since a single trip guarantees a large amount of loot with no need to search and little to no risk (as long as you don't meet Trudy II on the way). They also provide a larger healing boost, thus being a direct upgrade over grubs.
Gum is a sidegrade dealing longer lasting side effects instead of extra health, but IMO gum takes WAY TOO MUCH time and effort to be farmed in large quantities, so sprouts is the way I go.
I don't know exactly how long does it take for them to grow back, if we go by Wendell's notes it should be a few days. In the meantime, you can nonetheless easily maintain large stores of valid alternative healing sources, like bandages, healbasas and cooked meat.

Thank you for confirming.
I thought sprouts was the most efficient too for the ability to get a good amount in a single trip as well.
I just wanted to see if I was missing something since I just found out about them respawning today. I discovered them a while back, but they were neatly arranged so I didn't want to ruin it.

I miss the old days where I used the smoothie station to get rid of unused bug parts for an effective alternative. Now that it requires a base that isn't easily farmed, I ration them out more.
I figured it'd be patched anyways, it just reminds me of the old days.

Overall I find the grubs to be the easiest, but I also have a base that wraps up around that big tree for a zipline network so im constantly right there anyway and just grab them as i go. The sprouts are easy to get in bulk each trip if you dont mind waiting for them to respawn, but you are limited by their respawn since that is also the only group of them. The effects of the bases do determine how I choose to use them though, like the grub sludge is my default base most of the time because I have an abundance, I use the sprouts for the health boost on my slop or fuzz on the rocks since those are my more health oriented smoothies, I use the gum on the smoothies I either use less often or want to use for longer which most commonly is my boost juice but also applies to smoothies like worker's comp for building. Some of them I rarely use at all though, like i may only use liquid gills to even reach all the pond stuff initially, so despite it being a category that might normally get gum later, by the time i have gum to use for it I also have stuff like the bubble helmet and really dont need it anymore either.

In case you don't know, save your spare insect parts: you can use them in the glue masher to make repair glue (universal resource to repair upgraded gear), and some of them can later be used to craft upgrade materials instead of quartz and marble.

I have a minibase by the red tree. Back when the wolf spider was the biggest threat, I prepared a very small base to store items I catch that don't need, so when ziplines were introduced, that was my first target.
Grubs have been my most used so I usually have them scanned by resource scanner.
Fuzz on the Rocks is what I used my Sprouts on as well.
I just don't go farming for them as much as I used to so I run out quicker since smoothies were my fastest "OH CRAP" button.

I love my glue mashers. I have a couple in my base that made quick work of my excess insect parts I hoarded. Now that you can look up the recipe from right clicking, it's easier to see what I'm good to throw away if I already have the materials needed if they aren't glue masher compatible. My main ones I used for it are spiders since I fight a lot, termites since I clear the nest out when I try to get golden cards.

I still remember when quartzite was used for repair.
Glue is handy since I can just carry a stack of 10 for long trips.
It's a shame shields can't be repaired by glue.
