Grounded
Opinion: Grounded's Most Annoying
What critter do you think is the most annoying?

For me it's the mosquito.

They always seem to aggro on you when you don't want to fight. And they'll chase you an incredibly long distances before they drop aggro. And if you don't feel like running and try to fight them they always hover just out of reach of melee range. You can shoot them with your bow, but you can't block their stings with the bow equipped.

All of that makes the mosquito Grounded's Most Annoying critter imo.

I would say larvae are the 2nd most annoying for me. On an individual basis, they're no threat. But you get 2 or 3 of them on you, their triple attacks can chomp away at your stamina and life in no time. And it becomes completely impossible to attack or defend when you've got 5 or 6 of them after you. 😝

mosquitos are tied with O.R.C. enemies, followed by fire ants in the upper yard.

All of these mf's will chase you for miles relentlessly, Mosquitos are super fast with long range attacks almost designed to go after somebody theyre chasing, and the orcs are tied because they just show up everywhere.

Mosquitos need less follow distance, and ORC need to stop sending soldiers after you after beating schmector.

Doesn't beating schmector reduce the amount of ORC insects? Also, i gotta be stupid or smth because i've only seen like 30 to 50 orc insects... they're annoying but they don't show everywhere. (Examples: Sandbox, Picnic Table, Woodpile, Upperyard Canyons, Deep Hedge)
The stinkers aint so bad ? I mean they can kill you out of sight or even from a high spot ?
Mossies at least you can fight, but a stinker is like yeah AoE and stay away from him.

Early game I use milady, our lovely Ladybug... any critter early that gets her pissed off... is dead.
dust mites 2.0 aka the ticks. they have more health than a damn orb weaver

Inventory. It's missing a whole entire line to be enjoyable and it's unbelievable that it can't be upgraded. Every other annoyance I meet is related to that, any bug that might ruin my fun would be handled if I could bring utilities I worked hard to discover and craft without impairing my farming abilities - the stacks are not the issue here (thanks to upgrades), it's slots number.

Agreed. They hit like trucks, too!
I'm not a fan of the flying enemies in general, just due to them all constantly being out of range unless you want to bow them down. Mosquitos are definitely the worst, Moths can be annoying especially due to their dust blast attack (you basically have to have cover, the tracking on that attack is ridiculous).

I also don't like Fire Ants, the whole upper yard is annoying to traverse because every 5 seconds you hear combat music due to them aggroing you. They might as well just only have combat music up there because you will barely ever hear the grasslands theme before some damn worker ant pops up around a blade of grass.

Boulder attack from the black ox is sometimes very jank, too - I've had it fly past me due to me dodging and bounce off something behind me and kill me, I've blocked it and had it roll back towards me slowly down a hill and kill me, etc. It's rare, but yeah sometimes that stupid thing just finds a way to ricochet and hit me behind my shield. Also, for some reason they will not fight Ladybirds - I have made the ox throw rocks at the ladybird and everything, and the ladybird totally ignores it. I've even had the ox charge into the ladybird and the ladybird totally ignores it. Ladybird Larvae will totally try to kill black oxes though, if you get the ox to hit one. Roly Polies also can't seem to damage the black ox either, even though you can use the black ox to kill roly polies and the roly poly will try to damage the ox, the ox totally ignores it. Just odd interactions between some bugs.

Aggro range on some enemies is a bit overtuned too, which is another reason upper yard gets irritating - constantly interrupted during a fight by something else (usually a fire ant).

So between mosquitos and fire ants, for sure, with a special mention to the black ox's boulder and some other odd interactions.

Spiders! Hate them in real life and it seems the game developers know it. You turn a corner too fast, doing your xyz trip for stems and boom, it is the Wolf Spider. Your stems go flying and you are dead. Just like that and you don't need to feel bad about losing durability on your weapon, you didn't get to use it, So maybe night was the problem? Well guess what, there are always some spiders awake. Felt that death is your only problen? What about angry Orb Weaver that turns your base entrance into such mess that you spend next 5 minutes cleaning it up? So land clearly is just cursed, lets go for water base. That half blind koi fish will likely be our only trouble. WRONG! Full time underwater living spiders... like omg why, just why?! Only then I remembered watching this documentary few years back about them being a real thing, Can't blame the game about garden life including real nature :D

Great tip - if you hate spiders like me, go and make your base on the big tree like I did. Tests your nervers properly! :D

I never really had an issue with inventory, as long as you have a base with storage it no longer is a pain, plus making sure to only carry what you plan to use helps too.

My basic setup is a spicy coaltana, a widow dagger, a black ox crossbow, a sour staff, a stack of T3 arrows, a charcoal canteen, a charcoal torch, and a stack of jerky, 8 slots, 9-11 if i bring tools, other then that i always return to drop off the loot.

Also suggest pets, they have 10 inventory slots for items and can wear pet armor, just need to use a grinder to make the stuff to feed them.
@Zellnagi, you feed your pets? I never have fed mine and they always are fine. Their "hunger" bar goes down during the day, but it's always refilled by itself...no feeding necessary.
Not the most annoying but annoying when it happens.

Eta, I climbed a stalk on a cattail to get closer, that's why it looks like I'm floating over the pond.
