All of these mf's will chase you for miles relentlessly, Mosquitos are super fast with long range attacks almost designed to go after somebody theyre chasing, and the orcs are tied because they just show up everywhere.
Mosquitos need less follow distance, and ORC need to stop sending soldiers after you after beating schmector.
Mossies at least you can fight, but a stinker is like yeah AoE and stay away from him.
Early game I use milady, our lovely Ladybug... any critter early that gets her pissed off... is dead.
I also don't like Fire Ants, the whole upper yard is annoying to traverse because every 5 seconds you hear combat music due to them aggroing you. They might as well just only have combat music up there because you will barely ever hear the grasslands theme before some damn worker ant pops up around a blade of grass.
Boulder attack from the black ox is sometimes very jank, too - I've had it fly past me due to me dodging and bounce off something behind me and kill me, I've blocked it and had it roll back towards me slowly down a hill and kill me, etc. It's rare, but yeah sometimes that stupid thing just finds a way to ricochet and hit me behind my shield. Also, for some reason they will not fight Ladybirds - I have made the ox throw rocks at the ladybird and everything, and the ladybird totally ignores it. I've even had the ox charge into the ladybird and the ladybird totally ignores it. Ladybird Larvae will totally try to kill black oxes though, if you get the ox to hit one. Roly Polies also can't seem to damage the black ox either, even though you can use the black ox to kill roly polies and the roly poly will try to damage the ox, the ox totally ignores it. Just odd interactions between some bugs.
Aggro range on some enemies is a bit overtuned too, which is another reason upper yard gets irritating - constantly interrupted during a fight by something else (usually a fire ant).
So between mosquitos and fire ants, for sure, with a special mention to the black ox's boulder and some other odd interactions.
I hearteadly agree.
Great tip - if you hate spiders like me, go and make your base on the big tree like I did. Tests your nervers properly! :D
I never really had an issue with inventory, as long as you have a base with storage it no longer is a pain, plus making sure to only carry what you plan to use helps too.
My basic setup is a spicy coaltana, a widow dagger, a black ox crossbow, a sour staff, a stack of T3 arrows, a charcoal canteen, a charcoal torch, and a stack of jerky, 8 slots, 9-11 if i bring tools, other then that i always return to drop off the loot.
Also suggest pets, they have 10 inventory slots for items and can wear pet armor, just need to use a grinder to make the stuff to feed them.
Eta, I climbed a stalk on a cattail to get closer, that's why it looks like I'm floating over the pond.
