Location Obstructed when building Stem Doors.

Trying to build a door on a base on top of a lilypad. In the spot I'm trying to build, I can put down a Grass Plank Door, or a Door frame, but for some reason the Stem Door just reads Location Obstructed.

I've tried with the wall blueprints in place, without them in place, even adding and removing some length to the flooring it seems to be obstructed. I'm using Weed Stem Walls, so I feel like if it was the water preventing the placement, it'd affect them just the same.

I also get this same problem when building on other bases in a SP game, and it's the one thing I just can't understand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it would likely make my future construction sites 100x easier if it works.

in the spot you are trying to build, is there any chests or building materials nearby or in the spot? sometimes they can obstruct.

Closest thing that *Might* obstruct it would be the wood stick that leads down into the water/up onto the rocks, but a Grass Plank door is able to be placed there with no problem.

For the single player game that might be the issue, but the MP one I can't understand.

Did you try building the grass door and then just 'upgrading' it with the stem one, with how you can overlay a blue print on a built item?
I'm just spitballing.

Not yet, but I can try that next time i'm able to get onto that world.

I'm mostly doing it because I want a sheer wall face on our base on the lilypad to see if I can lure a Wolf Spider to jump at it and slide into the water. That and I want a nice looking actual base in the end.

I've seen what looks like the game checking where the door will swing open and if something is there, it blocks building the doorway. Maybe when you did the grass door, the hinge was on a different side than when you tried the stem door such that the where the door would swing on grass was clear but not for stem.
