How do you unlock mint globs?

Everything on the internet says you can purchase the recipe after handing the sandbox chip to BURGL, but that seems to have been an early access thing and doesn't work in the release version (at least not for me). Does anybody know how to unlock these now?

Edit: Never mind, forgot to hand chip into BURGL. Problem solved.

The black ant lab chip unlocks the tier 1 upgrade item recipie, I know that much. Higher tier crafting recipies are probably later or upper yard story objectives. (which didn't exist in EA)

Mint globs do still become available after you turn in the Sandbox auxilary Burg.L chip from the Sandbox Lab. You have to buy the technology from the terminal with raw science, but unlocking it for purchase happens with the chip. The name of the technology is "Advanced Smithing: Flavored Globs".
I got it today (purchased it, I got the sandbox chip a few days ago).

If you haven't yet gotten the basic advanced smithing, unlocked by the Black Anthill chip, maybe that's why you aren't seeing it. It would make sense if that's a pre-requisite.

Oh, never mind, I'm an idiot. Turns out after getting the chip I started doing something else and forgot to actually hand it into BURGL.

That's something I would do. Which is why I probably found it funnier than most people would.
