Can you have more than one pet at a time?
I'd like to have all the pet bonuses active at the same time, but my other pet seems to be dying immediately after I tame another one.
I dunno if it's bad luck or that you cannot have more than one pet tamed at once.

you can have multiple tamed, but only one active at a time. I would suggest getting one to follow you and pen in it before going off to tame another, later you can also make them pet houses to assign them to when not active
Pet pathfinding is a pain, and pets draw 2x the aggro from critters that would target them (my poor weevil attempts...i live by the red anthill). Keeping them alive at all can be a challenge, much less multiple. I'm pretty new to the game myself so maybe there is a way I don't know about, but as far as I am aware you can have multiple pets, but only one active at a time. The rest will have to be placed in pet houses while you are running around with your active pet (or have your active pet locked up somewhere safe because they do drop dead at the slightest breeze but you can get your buff and access their inventory from your own anywhere on the map as long as they are still active).

My solution to that was to stick with the gnat pet and lock it in a tower, partly because it seems to be the least likely to die (though mine constantly tries to make ME kill it mid-fight by becoming boop obsessed and constantly getting in my way) when it does follow me around and partly because it's little glide boost is the most unique of the pet buffs in my opinion. I have several other options to reduce or manage my hunger/thirst drain like the weevil and aphid help with, I dont have many options to make my tuft work a bit better. So I just made a bed for the hunger/thirst help and kept the gnat.

My pet is always stuck above my base door and always stays there. Idk if its bugged out cause when I pet him he comes down but then goes back up again and never leaves that spot even if I'm on the other side of the map.
